My greatest blessing: My home.

Happy weekend, dear Hivers. I hope you are all doing wonderfully.

Kicking off the month of February with challenge 294, select the option:

Are you proud of your home and do you care about its appearance and cleanliness? Explain why or why not.

My home is my greatest blessing, my unique and special comfort zone, where we can open our hearts without fear of what others will say. It is the place where a thousand leaks fall and only those who live there know how to fix them. Our roof is complete tranquillity, coupled with being surrounded by our loved ones, which is the greatest wealth that any being possesses.

Currently, owning a roof over your head is difficult in our country's situation, but despite the adversities, we must take the paths of life, as the song by the artist Omar Geles says, with his Vallenato genre, which is to become independent, especially when you have a family. A few weeks ago, I moved into a small flat, with the greatest desire to transcend what has been instilled in me: respect for the family and unity with it.

With a lump in my throat, I left my parents' home to start my own, with fear but also with excitement. Time passes in the blink of an eye, and accepting our reality is the challenge, with responsibility for our actions. Only then can we appreciate everything we have learned. At first, everything is difficult because we only have the basics: a bed, a cot, a table, and our personal belongings.

But with consistency and perseverance with our income, it drives us to obtain everything we need to furnish every corner with love.

From my roots, I was taught that every home should be kept clean and fresh, as it is part of our essence. A home is not just four walls; it requires love, whether through cleaning, painting, or a simple repair of keys that mark but strengthen vibes and change the course of our journey. Therefore, under that instilled discipline, it became my priority. Of course, I don't do it every day, I just sweep, because every day there is rubbish and that is what yields the most. I do a deep clean every 8 days, and yes, due to delays between personal and work activities, the interval becomes every 15 days, but it is certainly a deep clean.

In my current home, we still need to put in the windows and doors and paint it to our liking, but it has the basics: water and electricity and a spacious layout to enjoy. It has two bedrooms, a bathroom, a living-dining room and a laundry area that I forgot to take a photo of. The truth is that it's perfect for a family of three.

For the moment, we have only put glass in the room where we live because of the cold weather and we need to protect our baby.

It is a very nice task to acquire our things; it is part of personal and family growth, which we must take on sooner or later.

I am proud to show you our home and my cleaning routine, always prioritising the kitchen and bathroom, as they are the most used rooms on a daily basis.

There is a saying that goes: as your house is, so is your life, which is the harsh reality, so we must keep it tidy, clean and fresh, at our own pace, without rushing, but with music to brighten up the cleaning day, which adds a special touch in my opinion, finishing with incense of our choice. I always choose coffee, as I love that aroma.

I conclude my posts with: it is important to value the appearance of our home. With effort and dedication, we can achieve infinite things, which, when projected from the heart, give it the touch that defines us and that, over the years, will be the best anecdote for our descendants.

I hope you like it. See you next time.

I used Canva and the free Deepl translator, as my language is Spanish.

I love the simplicity of your home, and that it's just right for the three of you. People in my country have these massive houses and fill them full of things, but it doesn't make them happier at all. xx

Well, actually, the lack of things is because we are just starting a home. In the future, I would love to have that infinity of things in every corner, making it special, surrounded by magical moments.

Ah, things are overrated. Always remember you can't take it with you when you die, and things do not make you happy. Less is always more.

At first, it can be a bit overwhelming to move away from a protected place like with your parents, to your own home. Even without having a baby. Am glad you made this step, since it marks an important phase in our lives, the one of becoming independent. Over time you'll make your home even more cosy and add your touch to it. It is something to look forward to. For now, I do hope you'll settling in. The clean routine, yeah, important as well. With the music! Of cource! 🎶 and perhaps with a little dancing? 💃🕺

I really appreciate your comment, it's the absolute truth. Nothing is easy, but with the desire to keep going, everything else falls into place.
I agree with you that when cleaning, music and a little dancing are important, using the broom as a witness, ha ha ha, humour and laughter!
Greetings and blessings.
