Queridos amigos de la generosa comunidad de Hive Openmic, hoy estoy muy feliz de cantar para ustedes una canción muy especial para mi, como es "No me Platiques más" del maestro Vicente Garrido Calderón (Ciudad de México, 22 de junio de 1924 - Guadalajara, Jalisco, 11 de agosto de 2003) fue un compositor mexicano muy reconocido para su época, Se le llegó a referir como “el padre del bolero moderno”. Las canciones que escribió a lo largo de sus 60 años de trayectoria artística han sido interpretadas por diversos cantantes latinoamericanos. Este tema se lo voy a dedicar a todos esos usuarios amantes de este género que le ha dado tantas satisfacciones, y sensaciones de felicidad a mucha gente en el mundo, para ustedes.
Dear friends of the generous community of Hive Openmic, today I am very happy to sing for you a very special song for me, such as "No me Platiques más" by maestro Vicente Garrido Calderón (Mexico City, June 22, 1924 - Guadalajara , Jalisco, August 11, 2003) was a well-known Mexican composer for his time. He was referred to as “the father of the modern bolero”. The songs he wrote throughout his 60 years of artistic career have been performed by various Latin American singers. I am going to dedicate this topic to all those users who love this genre that has given so much satisfaction and feelings of happiness to many people in the world, for you.

Nació en la Colonia Roma de la Ciudad de México, fue hijo de Vicente Garrido Alfaro y Concepción Calderón. Su padre fue poeta y su madre tenía afición por la música. La tradición artística de su familia se remonta hasta sus bisabuelos, Vicente Alfaro y Calixta Gutiérrez, quienes llegaron a ser mecenas de varios músicos, entre ellos Juventino Rosas, mientras que su abuela, Maura Alfaro, fue cantante de ópera.1 Debido a las tertulias que organizaba su padre, pudo convivir con Carlos Pellicer, Francisco Monterde y Alfonso Reyes Ochoa desde que era muy joven, de esta forma comenzó a versificar pequeños poemas que su padre compiló y publicó en un pequeño libro llamado Destellos, poemas de los diez años.
He was born in Colonia Roma in Mexico City, he was the son of Vicente Garrido Alfaro and Concepción Calderón. His father was a poet and his mother had a fondness for music. His family's artistic tradition dates back to his great-grandparents, Vicente Alfaro and Calixta Gutiérrez, who became patrons of various musicians, including Juventino Rosas, while his grandmother, Maura Alfaro, was an opera singer.1 Due to the gatherings that his father organized, he was able to live with Carlos Pellicer, Francisco Monterde and Alfonso Reyes Ochoa since he was very young, in this way he began to verse small poems that his father compiled and published in a small book called Destellos, poemas de los ten años .

Por otra parte, inspirado por su abuela, estudió piano, debutó como pianista profesional en 1944 en la radiodifusora XEFO. Dos años más tarde se unió al grupo Los Excéntricos del Ritmo. Fue pianista en el restaurante Ciro's de la ciudad de México. Asimismo, fue pianista de la cantante estadounidense Joanne Walsh, a quien acompañó en sus giras musicales por Puerto Rico, República Dominicana y Cuba. Debutó como presentador de radio en el programa Regalos musicales de la XEQ. Fue homenajeado en varias ocasiones en Cuba y en 1995 por el Consejo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes en el Palacio de Bellas Artes de la Ciudad de México. En 2002 publicó el libro Tonadas y quimeras en el cual se recopilan 78 de sus composiciones, así como datos biográficos y fotografías. Falleció de un paro respiratorio en la ciudad de Guadalajara el 11 de agosto de 2003.
On the other hand, inspired by his grandmother, he studied piano, debuted as a professional pianist in 1944 on XEFO radio station. Two years later he joined the group Los Excéntricos del Ritmo. He was a pianist at Ciro's restaurant in Mexico City. He was also a pianist for the American singer Joanne Walsh, whom he accompanied on her musical tours of Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic and Cuba. He made his debut as a radio host on the XEQ Musical Gifts program. He was honored several times in Cuba and in 1995 by the National Council for Culture and the Arts at the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City. In 2002 he published the book Tonadas y chimeras in which 78 of his compositions are compiled, as well as biographical data and photographs. He died of respiratory arrest in the city of Guadalajara on August 11, 2003.
