Summary of what I learnt:

I understood that the man and woman has specific responsibilities which must me met by each parties to ensure smooth running of the home.

I understood that the woman has no power over her body but her husband and the husband has no power over his body but his wife, they should not deny themselves sexual relationship unless there is a mutual understanding and it's for a particular duration of time usually during fasting.

1 Corinthians 7:5
5 Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency
When couples are fasting, they should do in prayer and purity by denying themselves sexual relationship so that the flesh does not interfere in the process. When fasting they should not do it for show off but rather to please God and with prayers.
The importance of fasting cannot be over emphasized as it opens the doors only prayer can't open and also scientifically, it has great health benefit, that a 3 day fasting program can rejuvenate the entire Immune system.

When fasting, we are admonished to give our food to the hungered water to the thirsty and also clothes to the naked.

Isaiah 58:6-7
6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?
7 Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?

When praying, the woman ought to cover her hair because of the angels and as a honor to God and her husband, a woman with long hair is a glory and covering unto her. The man ought not to cover his head as doing that dishonours his head.

1 Corinthians 11:5-10
5 But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.
6 For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.
7 For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.
8 For the man is not of the woman: but the woman of the man.
9 Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.
10 For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels.

God is head over the man while the man is head over the woman. Therefore the man ought to love the woman as Himself and as God loves the church and the woman is to submit to her husband to show reverence to God and her husband.

Ephesians 5:22-24
22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

1 Peter 3:7
7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.

Women should dress up decently to cover up their nakedness, because their bodies are solely meant for their husband and not to arouse a total stranger thereby making the person to commit the sin of lust.

In marriage, the bed should be undefiled, that is it requires maximum fidelity, no form of extra marital affairs from both parties. That is the standard of the Lord.

Hebrews 13:4
4 Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

The husband should not deny his wife his body and likewise the wife also.

1 Corinthians 7:4
4 The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.
