Woodland Walk: Sun at Last 10/10 Thoroughly Recommend!

A miracle happened today: the sun was out for several hours. It just seems like ages that we've had some proper sun. It was a welcome change as I took a walk through the wood. I accessed it from the field at the top end, which unfortunately was still slightly slippery and waterlogged. I just about managed to stay on my feet before I entered the wood.

It was so nice to have the sun's rays coming through the trees instead of it being so dull. Parts of this wood have become private as it is an official burial ground. However, there are many footpaths that you are still allowed to walk on.

There was some forestry work going on, with lots of logs piled up. I think it is sad when they cut down trees, but sometimes it is necessary.

At the bottom of the wood, I stuck to the well worn footpath but even that was muddy in parts.

At this point, I decided to go back the way I came. It was downhill and very muddy. I couldn't really see a way around it, so it was best to play safe. I had a feeling the mud would suck my boots off, and nobody wants that!
