On the Beach at Hengistbury Head, Dorset, UK

The bad news is that my dog sitting duties are over. The good news is, I've gone back to the pooches home in Bournemouth for nearly a week to be beside the seaside. I'm not sure how the pooch feels about that.

It's hotter down south, so we took full advantage of the nice weather and went for a walk along the beach at Hengistbury Head ... with Buddy of course.

Hengistbury Head is an unspoilt headland separating the bays of Bournemouth and Christchurch. It has a lovely sandy beach and scenic clifftop walks. Surprisingly, there was hardly anyone on the beach. I expect that at the weekend, when the children are off school, it will be packed.

Buddy wanted me to share my jam donut with him. I'm like Joey from 'Friends', I don't normally share food, but who could resist that face?

It really was a lovely day and good that we had most of the place to ourselves.

After a couple of hours on the beach and after Buddy had dug his way to Australia, we left as it was getting too hot. It was good to be back on the beach, although there is a storm forecast on Sunday, so I'm quite looking forward to that!
