Market Friday at the Filling Station Café

After walking around the classic car museum we popped into the in-house cafe, aptly named the 'Filling Station Café' for #marketfriday by @dswigle.

We had our usual black Americano and a latte. I was grateful that the lady didn’t say "do you want milk with your black Americano?" They usually say it, and I was ready to say "NO, THAT'S WHY I ASKED FOR A BLACK AMERICANO ie NO MILK! She didn’t say it though and I sort of missed it. 😁

As well as drinks and food there's also car related gifts for sale. I confess, I know little about cars but it was lovely to see the cars of yesteryear.

I used to like meccano as a kid, although I could never quite follow the instructions and whatever I was trying to make, never turned out how it should.

I did buy a coaster. My dad used to drive a Morris Minor. I can't afford the real thing so a coaster will have to do, (to put my black Americano on, with no milk of course).

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year and All the Best for 2022. 🥂🍾

How cool! My dad had an old Morris Minor and we used to bicker over who would get to ride in his car. My mom had a Plymouth, not nearly as cool. I love the name of this place! So obvious, it's cute. :)

I do want to correct those kinds of questions. Do you want pepperoni on your cheese pizza? No. Do you want that drink warm or cold? Ummm really? Happy, Happy New Year, Julie! @ellenripley This is going to be OUR year! I swear to God, it needs to be!

#MarketFriday began as a way to reach out across the globe and learn about different cultures through their markets, especially local markets and farmers markets and eventually branching out and evolving over time from straight shopping to a cultural affair as it highlights how we differ and then again, how much we are alike. We have become a melting pot of culture, but, it is still the Rituals, Festivals, food, architecture, even your language/languages that separate us... Along with the fact of what is these things are normal for us. There are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. A strong culture can be beneficial to a country as it promotes unity, especially during a crisis, peaceful debate, and open dialogue. I have learned so much about all of you and it has been an amazing experience. I can only hope that learning about each other can help us work together for a peaceful world.

Fridays are all about the #MarketFriday Challenge! Looking to take part in it? Here is how:

I get very confused with the amount of questions I get asked just by ordering a coffee. So many choices!

Yes, I think we are all ready for a better year! X
