A Walk Around the Three Reservoirs at Linacre, Derbyshire

I had a very cold walk around the three reservoirs at Linacre. The reservoirs were built somewhere between 1855 and 1904. It is a place I've been coming to since I was a child, with my parents. It was good this morning as the parking machine wasn’t working. Win! Win!

There are numerous footpaths around the reservoirs that are popular with dog walkers and families.

The wooded area is lovely in Spring as it's covered in bluebells, but today it is a little bare, with just a few fading autumnal colours left.

There wasn’t much bird life about either. I only spotted the lonesome gull on the water.

We had rain this morning but the footpaths weren't too muddy and they are always well maintained. Quite a few people out walking today, but the place is big enough to accommodate everyone. I look forward to returning in the Spring.

Cool, I used to walk Linacre when I lived locally a few years ago. Small world...
