A Walk Around the Peak Village Nature Reserve

Behind the Peak Village Shopping Centre, a field has been transformed into a small nature reserve by the Derbyshire Wildlife Trust.

I followed the footpath down to the river. There is also a flower meadow and a small woodland.

There was a lovely carved wooden bench next to the river where you can do a spot of bird watching.

I also walked past a wooden sculpture of an otter. The area continues to grow as more footpaths will be added and access will be improved for visitors. Afterwards, I followed the circular footpath back to the car park.

All the leaves are falling as autumn approaches.

These ducks hang out in the shop car park as they know people will feed them. They are that chilled they hardly move when people are driving past them. Nothing disturbs their sleep except food!
