A Walk Around Flash Lane Wood

I think winter has arrived. It's been a two fleece sort of a day, so not many people about.

Whatever the weather, dogs need to go out for a walk. Mr Lurcher doesn't really like the cold but if he gets in the car first to be taken somewhere, he likes it!

We took a slight detour and stumbled across a small random stone wall. It makes you wonder what used to be here.

As it's rained for the last two days all the fly agaric fungi were out. Usually, we only see one or two around here but we spotted a lot in the middle of the trees.

Fly agarics are poisonous causing ingestion, stomach ache and hallucinations. Even though they are toxic it just looked like a fairy village amongst the trees!

It was good to get back to the warmth of my little flat.

I am very jealous of your amanitas, here they are very rare. We do have plenty of the deadly white amanita phalloides around, but not enough of the photogentic red muscarias.

It's quite rare for me too as I only see the odd one. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw all of these in the wood. They've sprung up from nowhere. I was like a kid in a sweet shop. 🙂😁
