A Visit to Rufford Abbey Country Park in Nottinghamshire
We took a ride to Rufford Abbey Country Park located in the next county of Nottinghamshire. It used to be a 12th century monastery and also a Jacobean family home.
It is owned by the local Council and managed by Parkwood Outdoors and working closely with the English Heritage.
The gardens, lake and woodland are open to the public. You can have a go on the rowing boats and pedalos.
We had a walk through the woodland. The footpaths are well maintained and accessible for all.
Some lovely autumnal colours amongst the trees.
We had to stop and feed the ducks and gulls of course. It's getting cold so I'm sure they appreciated it.
There's a small ford nearby. I think people like to drive through it at speed.
A nice day out and weather wise a not too chilly day when the sun was out.

Very nice old place with lots of history!
Did you happen to Robinhood?! LoL
Oh I would have loved to have been part of his gang. Taking from the rich to give to the poor! 🤗
It's always excited for me to explore such old places like that. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks. I love it too.
Shame about the pedalos. Roll on the summer, aye?
I'm a non-swimmer so I'd have to wear the biggest life jacket in the world. 😁
LOL
Your photographs and atmosphere are amazing.
Excellent light touch. Wonderful work. God bless you my dear friend @ellenripley
