A Sunny Walk Around the Lake

Walking around a local lake the sun was hitting the water, making it sparkle. I couldn't believe how clean and clear it was.

This greylag goose wasn't sure whether to go into the water or not. Decisions, decisions.

The common brimstone butterfly blended in nicely with the background. Its veiny wings made it look like a leaf. It was nice to see the odd butterfly about. I didn’t see many last year, so I'm hoping for more this summer.

We made our way around the lake, hoping to do the full circuit of three and a half miles.

There's always lots to see including the beautiful lake, woodland and birdlife. It doesn't matter how many times you visit, you will see something different.

There was a good footpath all along the way, which always makes it a lot easier. The trees were casting some nice shadows on the path.

Obviously, the water wasn't very deep as it only came up to the swan's ankles. 😁

I hope the lost giraffe has been reunited with its owner.

We really enjoyed the walk. It wasn't too taxing. The weather forecast for the next two days is rain, so it was good to get a sunny walk in plus a nice cup of coffee was waiting for us at the end!
