[ESP/ENG] Un sábado muy navideño/A very Christmassy Saturday

¡Hola! amigos, ¿cómo están? espero que su fin de semana lo pasaran excelente y que descansaran bastante.

Hoy les traigo mi experiencia con el encendido de la navidad en un centro comercial de mi ciudad. Este momento es bastante especial para mí, porque desde diciembre 2017 no asistía a este en específico (fui a otros lugares y el año pasado no se realizó) y que este momento lo usé para disfrutar los últimos momentos con mis papás, antes de que emigren para Colombia.

No soy muy fan de la navidad, puedo considerarme algo Grinch, por diferentes razones: no es lo mismo, ya no es como la recuerdo, muchas personas queridas no están en este plano o no están cerca. La verdad trato de hacer las pases con cada navidad que me recuerda todo esto.

Sé que a mis papás les encanta esta época a pesar de todo, así que me pareció un evento oportuno para asistir y compartirlo con ellos. Ojo, no me gusta el exceso de las decoraciones navideñas, el frío (aunque no debería quejarme porque es un país tropical) ni los accesorios navideños, del resto me gusta las comidas, los postres, las bebidas, la música de esta temporada y las vacaciones jajajaja.

El sábado en la noche llegamos al centro comercial y había una feria con Gaitas (música navideña en Venezuela) en una parte del estacionamiento.

Mientras caminamos a través del estacionamiento para bajar nos dimos cuenta que llegamos justo a tiempo para el encendido del árbol gigante de navidad. Fue bonito ver a todos emocionados y haciendo la cuenta regresiva “10, 9, 8, 7…. 3,2,1 ¡Feliz navidad! Nos quedamos un rato a celebrar también.

Cuando íbamos en el camino, estábamos sacando cuenta de cuánto tiempo teníamos sin visitar el centro comercial por el tema de la pandemia, veíamos que tiendas aún estaban abiertas, cuales cerraron para siempre y que otras son nuevas.

Nos sorprendió mucho la cantidad de personas que estaban paseando, dentro de las tiendas y las que estaban en la feria disfrutando la música en vivo. Intentamos acercamos a la tarima, pero nos dio miedo porque todos estaban algo apretados, así que decidimos buscar otro lugar que no tuviéramos a muchas personas alrededor, solo queríamos pasarla bien.

Duramos unas horas bailando, cantando y hablando. Hasta que decidimos irnos a casa, hasta ese momento estaba feliz pero con una sensación rara y haciendo la cuenta regresiva de que faltan 13 días para que se vayan…

Today I bring you my experience with the Christmas lighting in a shopping mall in my city. This moment is quite special for me, because since December 2017 I did not attend this specific one (I went to other places and last year it did not take place) and that this moment I used it to enjoy the last moments with my parents, before they emigrate to Colombia.

I'm not a big fan of Christmas, I can consider myself a bit Grinch, for different reasons: it's not the same, it's not the same as I remember it, many loved ones are not on this plane or are not around. I really try to make passes with every Christmas that reminds me of all this.

I know my parents love this time of year in spite of everything, so it seemed like a timely event to attend and share with them. I don't like the excess of Christmas decorations, the cold (although I shouldn't complain because it's a tropical country) or the Christmas accessories, the rest I like the food, the desserts, the drinks, the music of this season and the vacations hahahaha.

Saturday night we arrived at the mall and there was a fair with Gaitas (Christmas music in Venezuela) in a part of the parking lot.

As we walked across the parking lot to get off we realized we were just in time for the lighting of the giant Christmas tree. It was nice to see everyone excited and counting down "10, 9, 8, 8, 7.... 3,2,1 Merry Christmas! We stayed a while to celebrate too.

As we were on our way, we were keeping track of how long we hadn't visited the mall because of the pandemic, seeing which stores were still open, which ones were closed for good, and which ones were new.

We were very surprised by the amount of people that were walking around, inside the stores and those that were at the fair enjoying the live music. We tried to get close to the stage, but it was scary because everyone was a bit crowded, so we decided to look for another place where we didn't have too many people around, we just wanted to have a good time.

We lasted a few hours dancing, singing and talking. Until we decided to go home, until that moment I was happy but with a weird feeling and counting down that there are 13 days to go...
