Nuestra primera invitación a Danzar / Our first presentation to dance (ESP - ENG)
Hola Chicos!
El día de hoy quiero contarles de la invitación que recibimos para realizar dos performances en el acto de graduación de la Escuela para Emprendimientos Ana María Campos.
Esta invitación fue muy importante porque oficialmente es la primera que recibimos en la Academia.
Tanto las niñas como nosotras estábamos bastante emocionadas y nerviosas a la vez.
Además la coreografía estaba en manos de mi mamá, después de más de 20 años sin danzar, retomó su antiguo pasatiempo en la Academia.

Today I want to tell you about the invitation we received to give two performances at the graduation ceremony of the School for Entrepreneurship Ana Maria Campos.
This invitation was very important because it is officially the first one we received at the Academy.
Both the girls and ourselves were very excited and nervous at the same time.
Also the choreography was in the hands of my mom, after more than 20 years without dancing, she took up her old hobby at the Academy.
Los ensayos fueron bastante fuertes pues teníamos poco tiempo para prepararnos y el baile que nos pidieron era de un estilo que las niñas nunca antes habían bailado.
Las niñas ensayaban hasta 4 horas al día sin descanso. Las pobres estaban exhaustas.
Pero como siempre me repito, todo esfuerzo tiene su recompensa. Después de realizar las coreografías el público enloqueció.
The rehearsals were quite hard as we had little time to prepare and the dance we were asked to do was in a style that the girls had never danced before.
The girls rehearsed up to 4 hours a day without a break. The poor girls were exhausted.
But as I always repeat myself, every effort has its reward. After performing the choreographies the audience went crazy.
El día del evento nos levantamos bien temprano para arreglarnos y para recoger unos trajes que faltaban.
Teníamos que caminar un poco para llegar a la casa de la costurera así que decidimos salir un poco mas temprano para ir con calma y esperar ahí mismo el vehículo que nos llevaría al Teatro.
También recibí un pantalón que había mandado a arreglar y me cambié antes de que llegara el bus.
Todas las madres iban con sus niñas en el vehículo y sinceramente no sabemos quienes estaban más nerviosas, si las niñas, nosotras o las madres.
The day of the event we got up very early to get ready and to pick up some missing costumes.
We had to walk a bit to get to the seamstress' house, so we decided to leave a little earlier to take it easy and wait right there for the bus that would take us to the theater.
I also received a pair of pants that I had had altered and I changed before the bus arrived.
All the mothers were on the bus with their girls and we honestly don't know who was more nervous, the girls, us or the mothers.
Llegamos al Teatro y la entrada estaba repleta, no pude tomar fotos porque teníamos que correr a ensayar.
El escenario ya estaba decorado, incluso ya había algunas personas dentro.
Las niñas comenzaron a ''marcar'' sus espacios y a ensayar por última vez las coreografías.
Mientras las niñas bailaban las madres cocían las faldas ya que la elástica había quedado más grande de lo planeado y las faldas se caían.
Finalizado el ensayo, pasamos a la parte de camerinos a cambiara las niñas, a retocar su maquillaje, a tomar las fotos y a hacer nuestra respectiva oración.
We arrived at the theater and the entrance was packed, I could not take pictures because we had to run to rehearsal.
The stage was already decorated, there were already some people inside.
The girls began to ''mark'' their spaces and to rehearse the choreographies for the last time.
While the girls were dancing, the mothers were cooking the skirts, as the elastic had gotten bigger than planned and the skirts were falling down.
Once the rehearsal was over, we went to the dressing room to change the girls, to touch up their make-up, to take pictures and to say our respective prayers.
Las niñas se sentaron a esperar su momento, mientras yo estaba con las personas encargadas de la música pues tenía que indicarles cuando y cuál música colocar.
El Teatro ya estaba repleto y el acto empezó. La maestra de ceremonia canto unas estrofas de una linda canción, la directora de la escuela dió unas palabras y el turno de las niñas llegó.
Salieron al escenario y comenzaron el primer baile, las personas se alegraron y comenzaron a aplaudir mientras ellas bailaban jocosamente.
Las mamás de las niñas y mi madre no les cabía en el pecho la emoción.
The girls sat down to wait for their moment, while I was with the people in charge of the music because I had to tell them when and what music to play.
The theater was already full and the ceremony began. The ceremony teacher sang a few verses of a beautiful song, the school principal said a few words and the girls' turn came.
They came out on stage and started the first dance, people cheered and started to applaud while they danced jocularly.
The girls' mothers and my mother could not hold their excitement in their chests.
Después del baile les compartieron unos refrigerios a las niñas y al equipo, tomamos unas cuantas fotos más y entramos para realizar el segundo baile.
Este fue el más emocionante, la canción escogida fue ''Venezuela'' una canción bastante emblemática en el país con mucho sentimiento y relevancia para nosotros.
Al final del set, las niñas mas pequeñas salían con una bandera de Venezuela y este fue el momento en que el público enloqueció. Se levantaron en sus asientos para aplaudirlas, muchas lloraban de la emoción y las niñas quedaron en shock al ver esta reacción porque no la esperaban.
Nos llenó de mucho orgullo generar esta reacción en el público, esto es lo que buscamos a través de la danza, crear sensaciones y emociones en el público. Que quienes nos observan conecten con nuestro arte y sientan lo que queremos transmitir.
Esta fue la primera de muchas presentaciones que vendrán para nuestras niñas.

After the dance they shared some refreshments with the girls and the team, we took a few more pictures and went inside for the second dance.
This was the most exciting one, the song chosen was ''Venezuela'' a very emblematic song in the country with a lot of feeling and relevance for us.
At the end of the set, the youngest girls came out with a Venezuelan flag and this was the moment when the audience went crazy. They stood up in their seats to applaud them, many were crying with emotion and the girls were shocked to see this reaction because they did not expect it.
We were very proud to generate this reaction in the audience, this is what we seek through dance, to create sensations and emotions in the audience. That those who watch us connect with our art and feel what we want to transmit.
This was the first of many presentations to come for our girls.
