Wonderful willow herb (Epilobium angustifolium)

Hello dear Hive community! On this day I would like to introduce you to a plant that convinces with its beautiful pink flowers. The name of this plant is willow herb and botanically Epilobium angustifolium.

Epilobium angustifolium blooms in a strong pink color from June to September and the flower consists of four crown leaves. In rare cases, willow herb grow up to 2 meters high, but on average they only grow to a medium size of about 50-120 cm.

When the location is sunny or in partial shade, willow herb feels comfortable, this plant also needs a soil which is rich in nutrients to thrive! This plant can usually be found in forest areas, on roadsides or meadows.

Some people see this plant as a pest plant, but actually the opposite is true! Epilobium angustifolium has numerous active ingredients that are great in the medical field. Despite the positive effects, it is rather unknown that this plant is a medicinal herb. The properties include the effects against bacteria and viruses, so it can be used in many different ways against different diseases.

Even ancient Indian tribes and shamans used the plant for ritual occasions and for healing purposes.

Other great features of this plant are the resistance to cold and the friendliness to insects! By the way, willow herb have the origin in Europe, North and South America as well as Asian countries.
