I was very pleased to have discovered this leatherflower, which is also known under the scientific name Clematis. It is widespread almost everywhere in the world and several hundred species belong to this genus and the full splendor only becomes apparent when the flowers open, which is also a valuable choice from an ecological point of view and you can find insects like bees or butterflies here. The benefits for insects vary depending on the species and some of them even offer food until late in the year while there are some that are useless for insects because of the filled flowers, so you should always inquire carefully in advance and the leaves are also an important source of food for caterpillars and some species are also interesting for birds as shelter due to the compact growth. Depending on the species, the flowering period starts as early as April and it can form flowers in different colors such as white, violet or red and it is a climbing plant that is relatively easy to care for and can also be classified as relatively easy to care for and robust. Clematis can grow a few meters high and unfortunately there is no special meaning in mythology but it is symbolically deeply anchored and is often associated as a flower of wisdom, spirituality or travellers and depending on the color the symbolic meaning can also vary. As a climbing plant, it is ideal as a beautification of fences or other places where it can climb up undisturbed and it can also be a support aid for other plants and it is important to know the toxicity of the plant and you must always pay attention to the correct handling!
