Hey dear community, first of all I hope that you are all doing well and you had a great start to the new week! In this post, I would like to talk about nature and hope you can expand your knowledge a little.

Some time ago I took pictures of this squirrel and would like to discuss how to support these enchanting animals in nature. Squirrels are of great importance for nature and help to maintain the balance of the ecosystem and these animals have developed a great tactic to store their food for later times and they collect nuts or seeds which they then bury in the ground for later times and some of the seeds germinate in the soil and grow into new trees. The property helps to reproduce nature, which in turn is important for the entire biodiversity and it also sometimes happen that the seeds get stuck on their fur and thus get to other places and they often cover enormous distances and ensure that numerous new plants or trees can come to life. You can actively support squirrels and place food in the places where the animals are often located and walnuts, hazelnuts, sunflower seeds, fruits, vegetables or various seeds are best suited for this purpose. There are also extra food places that can be attached to trees and I recently bought one of them and find this a good solution to store the food and it is also protected from the influences of the weather. It doesn't always have to be special houses for squirrels and also normal feeding places for birds like in one of the following pictures are a good option and it is also important to note that it does not tolerate some things such as peanuts or almonds so well and you should not feed them with them and who should set up a feeding place must make sure that the squirrels cannot get injured. Theoretically, you can feed squirrels all year round, but it is best during the cooler day when there is little food in nature and if you live in an area where you can often see some, it can definitely be worthwhile to support them!
