Here you can see some works of art that have been painted on walls and it can be considered one of the oldest branches of art and goes hand in hand with cave painting where it was about representing works of art with natural colors. Where exactly the first mural was found is a very controversial topic today and this art form was widespread in pretty much all cultures the tools used have improved more and more over the millennia and it was mostly about presenting events of the time, which often included the painting of mythological topics. Typical events included the representation of hunting scenes and each culture has developed its very own style and new ways were always found to create colors and here mostly plants, coal, minerals or other materials were used and countless different recipes were created that made it possible to provide walls with art for eternity and depending on the used color, it was often only a few days durable and the artists usually had to complete their works within a few day or mix new colors. In Asia, it did not take long until the mural painting had become more and more widespread over the countries and many artworks decorated the houses of the population and typical here was that numerous Buddhist influences which have been depicted and numerous differents currents have emerged there.

Influences of this tradition have also partly flowed into European culture and there it behaved similar and it was often about presenting religious themes but however, it was kept rather simpler and was also used a lot to decorate buildings to represent patterns or historical themes. Topics such as certain rituals, coats of arms or professions were also often presented in the form of murals and during the Middle Ages, wall painting changed more and more and adapted to different art epochs. In this respect, the indigenous peoples of America who were known for their high culture are also indispensable and mural painting was also very well known in Africa and was strongly influenced by European influences. To this day, traces of murals can be found everywhere and to this day this topic enjoys great popularity and to this day numerous murals are created which are based on the time and it has also adapted to modern art epochs and an example is graffiti or street art. There are numerous artists who have focused on designing entire houses artfully and there is no uniform selection of motifs and both historical, modern and fictitious themes are chosen. There are so many different techniques and styles that exist today and you can't choose a uniform style and a very formative figure when it comes to street art is the artist Banksy who inspires numerous people every day and has stationed himself a great example for artists.
