Here you can see pictures of musical instruments as well as sculptures representing figures with instruments and I would like to discuss in this article the complex effect of music on the subconscious. Already in ancient cultures, people were fascinated by sounds and knew what enormous effect music can have and instruments or songs were used specifically to put people in trance-like states or were used for other ritual events. Music has a huge influence on the subconscious and can influence our emotions and, for example, if we listen to a song that we like, this can lead to an emission of the happiness hormone dopamine and a sad song can result in that we feeling worse and, in addition to the psychological aspects, physical ones are also set in motion. Depending on the genre, music can have a calming effect on the body or even have the result that the heartbeat shoots up or other symptoms such as shortness of breath or a change in blood pressure can occur and all this information emanating from the frequencies of the music is processed by the subconscious. Decisive for the effect is also the structure of the songs such as the rhythm, tempo, melody or the instruments used and this creates certain habits that can influence the psyche individually and what takes place in parallel are very complex mechanisms within the subconscious. The connections of the music and the subconscious are also interesting and if we particularly like a song, it happens that we listen to this song more often and also the triggered sensations as well as feelings when listening are closely related to it and if you generally want to learn more about the connections with the subconscious in order to understand the topic even better, I can recommend this post here. The associations or connections with the emotions also mean that a dependence can arise and when we hear a song that has shown an energetic effect in the past, the subconscious sends the message that we should hear this song when we feel tired and so it also behaves in principle with other reactions.

These informations are unconsciously stored for decades and are also linked to different moments from the past and when we hear a song that we already heard a few years ago, this pattern is closely linked to the experiences or emotions as well as experiences that we have perceived during this time in the past. Music is such a strong tool of influencing the human organism and certain sounds can affect different healing processes and can thus transform a state that we perceive as unsightly into a better one and some branches make use of these effects also in medicine and there are therapies that have specifically focused on the effect of music. The perception of the different songs is very individual to humans, which also makes it extremely interesting to recognize behavioral patterns and already Pythagoras in ancient Greece dealt closely with the effect of music and this has resulted in a large branch of research that has specialized in what effects music can have on the individual as well as the masses. The handling of music is also of great relevance and here there are numerous cultural differences and often music is linked to certain events like intoxicating things such as alcohol which ensure that music is even more linked to the subconscious and how these experiences are perceived or stored quite differently. The effect of the music on the two hemispheres of the brain is also interesting and it was found that each hemisphere perceives certain frequencies differently, which means that the processing of the information changes and the music is perceived differently.
