Chalcedony can be seen here, which is also a variety of quartz and has been known since ancient times and there are assumptions that it has already been mentioned by the Roman scholar Pliny the elder in his writings. The origin of the name is still a mystery today and it is assumed that it was probably associated with the ancient Greek city of Kalchedon, which was known as an important port city and today the city is located in Turkey in Istanbul. It is suspected that the mineral was already mined in the city thousands of years ago and it was already of great importance for the production of weapons by Babylonians or other cultures and in the Roman Empire it was considered a magical stone and in ancient Egypt, art objects were made from Chalcedony and this use is also very popular today. In mythology, Chalcedony often appears and was considered an important lucky charm and given to traveller because there was the assumption that people would arrive safely and also on the high seas it could help shipwrecked to save them from drowning. As a stone of wisdom, there are also interpretations that it can help the wearer to gain more wisdom or hidden knowledge and there are numerous old writings where it was mentioned. It is believed that it was also used in ancient cultures for the production of seals and nowadays, in addition to the production of works of art, it is also used to make jewelry and sometimes it is also marketed as a healing stone and assumed, that it could have a health-promoting effect. It is also very popular in the circles of collectors and here you should make sure to keep the mineral away from the sun because otherwise it can fade and when it comes to the effect as a healing stone, I would like to mention that in case of illness you should always ask your doctor or pharmacist about the correct medicine and application! From the color it is usually gray and due to the contamination with other minerals or additions, it can happen that other shades also arise and a typical characteristic is that it does not have a uniform color and is usually a mixture of more. It is considered a more common mineral and the formation can be attributed to volcanic activities and arises during the crystallization of silicate-containing solutions at high temperatures.

I have never seen such a stone before. It is very beautiful. Different colored objects are more beautiful.
