Cory avoided the simulators…not like the plague, everyone and their grandmother had gotten that. No, the way he avoided them was more like how his brother avoided responsibility or his ex avoided rehab: like there wasn't enough money on God's green Earth to change his mind.
So, how did he end up here, at a simulation booth staring at a sign that read, “STRAP YOURSELF IN” with every intention of doing what it said?
He had had a vision. And in that vision, someone or something had told him that all the answers he had been seeking would be found in this location.
So he strapped himself in and let the machines start feeding signals to his brain.
