Tengo cita en el taller para hacerle un mantenimiento general a mi fiel compañera de rutas. La idea es dejarla lista para encarar la temporada con el máximo rendimiento y, por supuesto, la mayor seguridad.

Mi primera misión del día fue ir a la tienda por los repuestos esenciales que necesitaba de antemano. No se imaginan la emoción que da tener esas piezas nuevas esperando por ser instaladas. Sin embargo, no pude evitar la tentación de hacer una revisión rápida por mi cuenta antes del gran día, y fue allí donde detecté un problema crucial: la rueda delantera se quedaba ligeramente frenada.

Al inspeccionar de cerca, el diagnóstico fue claro: la pequeña pero vital goma del v-brake delantero, esa pieza que asegura que el freno se libere correctamente, estaba completamente dañada. Un error común, pero que afecta enormemente la rodadura. Ante esto, no quedó más remedio que realizar un reemplazo inmediato de todo el sistema de freno delantero. ¡Adiós v-brake viejo y bienvenido el nuevo! Es un alivio saber que ese problema quedó resuelto antes de entrar al taller.

Ahora sí, con el freno delantero funcionando perfectamente y con los repuestos listos en casa, la cuenta regresiva para el sábado ha comenzado. Pronto les estaré compartiendo una lista completa de todo lo que se le cambiará a la bicicleta, que incluye mejoras muy esperadas. ¡Estoy muy emocionada por los resultados!

I have an appointment at the workshop to have my faithful riding companion undergo general maintenance. The idea is to get it ready to face the season with maximum performance and, of course, maximum safety.

My first mission of the day was to go to the store for the essential spare parts I needed in advance. You can't imagine how exciting it is to have those new parts waiting to be installed. However, I couldn't resist the temptation to do a quick check myself before the big day, and that's when I detected a crucial problem: the front wheel was slightly stuck.

Upon closer inspection, the diagnosis was clear: the small but vital rubber on the front v-brake, the part that ensures the brake releases properly, was completely damaged. A common mistake, but one that greatly affects the ride. Faced with this, there was no choice but to immediately replace the entire front brake system. Goodbye old v-brake, welcome new one! It's a relief to know that this problem was solved before entering the workshop.

Now, with the front brake working perfectly and the spare parts ready at home, the countdown to Saturday has begun. Soon I will be sharing a complete list of everything that will be changed on the bike, including some much-anticipated improvements. I am very excited about the results!
