[Eng][Esp] My Book Tag 2025 📚💗✨ •Initiative•
This year, my relationship with reading was very good, truly satisfying. Not because I had more free time, but because I learned to organize myself better and prioritize something that has always been one of my greatest passions: reading. I gave myself that daily moment, even if it was only half an hour, to rest and immerse myself in a story💖
I went from being a teenager who could devour a book in three days to an adult who sometimes took more than a month to finish one, so having read 13 complete books this year is a huge achievement for me (one per month, let's celebrate 😂😅). Reading was my refuge and my companion; I didn't pressure myself to read more or meet “reading goals,” I simply enjoyed it at my own pace.
I've seen lots of reading year-end summaries on YouTube and Instagram, where people share what they've read through a personal dynamic in which books are organized into different categories, and I decided to do it too. So, here's my Book Tag 2025✨

«A book that came at just the right time»
📚 This was just the book I needed when I was feeling stuck and tired. A simple, emotional, funny, and romantic romcom that helped me relax and laugh.
💗«A good bookstore», Charlie says, «is like an airport where you don’t have to take your shoes off»

«A book that broke me»
"Sunrise on the Reaping" by Suzanne Collins
📚This book broke me from the first sentence to the last. I knew it wouldn't have a happy ending, I knew the character's future, but now I was going to learn about the abyss into which he was pushed. It impacted me so much that, at one point, I even threw the book against the wall; it was an emotional reaction.
💗«The snow may fall, but the sun also rises»

«A book that was difficult to read, but I'm grateful»
"A Discovery of Witches" by Deborah Harkness
📚 The author mixes real facts—historical, alchemical, and biological—to give the fiction more credibility, and that gives the book a depth that I really appreciate, even though it required concentration and patience on my part. It's a fantasy immersed in the real world, with witches and vampires in academic lives.
💗«Just because something seems impossible doesn’t make it untrue»

«A book I would read again»
"Coraline" by Neil Gaiman
📚It's a short, classic book with a timeless story. It gives us suspense, action, and a touch of horror. It will never go out of style. And I think it deserves a second reading to catch details I missed the first time around.
💗«Fairy tales are more than true: not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten»

«A book I would highly recommend»
"The Irresistible Urge to Fall for Your Enemy" by Brigitte Knightley
📚It's a good story, but without a doubt, my favorite part is the chemistry between the characters. I savored that tension until the very end. It's a dynamic that draws you in and makes you want to know more and more, until you reach the last chapter without even realizing it. I would recommend it just for its characters and their cat-and-dog relationship.
💗«Ask me no questions and I shall tell you no lies»
💗«No me hagas preguntas y no te diré mentiras»

«A book that embraced me»
"Serpent & Dove" by Shelby Mahurin
📚It was a book I bought myself, after reading only the synopsis and saying, “I want it.” Despite its dark story, the afternoons I spent reading it were very cozy: snuggled up in my bed with the air conditioning on full blast, and lots of lattes. It was a book that made me feel comfortable, accompanied, and I enjoyed reading it.
💗«Where you go, I will go. Where you stay, I will stay»

«A book that restored my desire to read»
"The Cruel Prince" by Holly Black
📚This trilogy didn't become my favorite, but it was the first one I read in 2025, carrying with it a literary desert from the previous year. These three books reminded me why I love reading, why I love fantasy where anything is possible. It helped me lose myself in a literary world again, and I am grateful for that.
💗«Most of all, I hate you because I think of you. Often. It's disgusting, and I can't stop»
A menudo. Es repugnante, y no puedo evitarlo»

«A book I read because of the hype»
"Quicksilver" by Callie Hart
📚This book is loved by many in the reading community, which is why I read it (yes, I often fall for advertising), but unfortunately, it didn't become one of my favorites. It has the basis of a decent romantic fantasy, it's interesting, but... it didn't offer me anything innovative, nothing that explains why it's such a hit everywhere.
💗«I’ll be grateful for every second that I can say I belong to you, Saeris Fane»

«A book with dark vibes»
"Anathema" by Keri Lake
📚It had grotesque scenes, creepy creatures, dark magic, towns with people even more horrible than the monsters... I loved it!✨ It's not a Stephen King book either, but its narrative does have a rather dark tone for being just fantasy.
💗«For those who feel lost in a dark and pathless wood. Believe in the magic beyond the trees»

«A book I'm still processing»
"Onyx Storm" by Rebecca Yarros
📚This book left me with many questions and zero answers. When I finished it, I literally stared into space, my mind blank. And when I finally recovered, my brain started creating dozens of theories... but even so, I know I haven't finished processing everything that happened. Rebecca Yarros, if you're reading this: I NEED THE FOURTH BOOK NOW.
💗«My loyalty is to Violet first above everything, everyone else»

«Favorite Characters of 2025»
This year, I loved many protagonists. Some made it onto my long list of literary loves, while others will forever remain in a special place in my heart (yes, I'm talking about you, Haymitch Abernathy). But if there's one thing I've confirmed in my reading this year, it's that when it comes to fantasy, I almost never fall in love with just the main character. There's something about me—a very clear weakness—for well-constructed secondary characters... the ones who appear quietly and end up stealing the show.
Carrion Swift (Quicksilver) and Ridoc Gamlyn (Onyx Storm) were exactly that for me: characters who, without being the protagonists, shone with their own strength, charisma, presence, and moments that stayed with me long after the main story was over. And then there's Maysilee Donner (Sunrise on the Reaping), who was not only a character I loved, but one I wanted to protect at all costs. Maysilee is one of those characters who inspires, who hurts, who feels real, and who reminds you why certain stories stay with you forever.

«My favorite book of 2025»
If I had to choose just one book from everything I read this year, "Sunrise on the Reaping" by Suzanne Collins would take first place without question. It wasn't just a read, it was a complete emotional experience. It's one of those stories that you can't read quickly, because every chapter weighs heavily, every decision hurts, and every silence says more than it seems.
Returning to the world of The Hunger Games from this perspective was devastating and necessary. Suzanne Collins did not write this book to entertain; she wrote it to remember, to force us to look squarely at the cruelty of the system and the real cost of survival. This book broke me, made me reflect, and above all, reminded me why this saga remains so powerful even after all these years.
Sunrise on the Reaping wasn't just my favorite read of 2025: it was the book that had the biggest impact on me, the one I still think and feel about even after finishing it. And when a book achieves that... it's already won everything.

In the end, reading this year wasn't just about accumulating stories, but letting some sustain me, others break me a little, and several remind me why I love books so much. Each read came with something different, and all of them, in one way or another, stayed with me. And that, for me, will always be the true charm of reading🩷
And if you want, I invite you to create your own Book Tag so you can tell us which books accompanied you throughout 2025✨

The descriptions of books like Coraline and Book Lovers are so simple and beautiful, it makes me want to pick up the books while reading. Thank you for sharing this.
They are very beautiful books, I hope you read them someday!✨🤍
Estaré atenta a tus próximas reseñas. ¡Saludos! 📚✨
I didn’t really like Carrion swift so much, I thought of him as annoying most times. And yes, I didn’t really fw Quicksilver the way it was hyped everywhere! This is why i don’t like reading trending books, ugh. And I loved the cruel prince. You accomplished a lot of books this year and I am so proud of you stranger💕
Carrion is so annoying with everyone, but that's what made me laugh a lot🤭 Thank you so much for reading💗 Let's hope 2026 brings a lot of good reading material✨
