Hi friends,
So glad to be here, this is going to be my first post in the #hivegarden community, am really impress by the things am already learning here.

Waterleaf is one of the most effectively used vegetable leaf within my locality, it is likely used for almost all vegetable leaf especially when dealing with our traditional delicacies.

Waterleaf is called mmon-mmon ikon in Ibibio and Efik, Gbure in Yoruba, Ebe-dondon in Edo, and in English is nicknamed Philippine spinach, sweetheart, flame flower, Florida spinach etc. The leaves are excellent for diarrhea, liver enlargement, and hepatitis,

Waterleaf is Botanically known as (Talinum Fruticosum or Talinum triangulare), it is a herbaceous annual and perennial plant, it has light green edible leaves but most times can become yellowish when not well taken care of.
Waterleaf by the scientist is classified as a weed, and in my locality as at now when rain begins to fall, we have it grown on the farmland as weed. it has the ability to grow fast, with a short life cycle making it an easily perishable vegetable.

For me the planting season begins now and often within this time you can have it high quantity to engage the planting than in dry season, As you have seen, it has been harvested from another location, transferred to the area were the plantation will be done.

We will make beds, tilt it, and mixing together, animal drops, pure water on the ground and allow it for about 72hours to allow the soil stabilize with the organic component before planting the waterleaf on the bed.

I also manually plant the waterleaf with the use of a stick to make whole on the ground then pin the waterleaf to the ground.
like in my place now were the temperature of the sun is high, we do well to plant it in the early hours of the morning before the sun rises and then as the sun set, we also engage the planting.

Due to the nature of my place, i prefer to carry out the plantings on beds, for easy weeding and irrigation process.

You can see from the picture as the leaf is also growing with weeds, so we will use our hands to remove the weeds from the bed then allow the leaf to freely express themselves.

This is the harvesting process, either for commercial use or for the process of replanting. this is a newly planted bed

The garden is were i effectively engage every day for productivity, like now that the sun is very high, you will have to carry out irrigation twice every day, that is morning and evening, respectively.
