I Welcome you all, once again to my blog on the @motherhood challenge with the #Dadlife initiative, I will be engaging on the month of June #2, to share on when is too old to co-sleep, This for me is not anything new, from the gist my mum gave me about my up bringing, i knew that it will be an issue i must live with, reasons being that i slept with my parent even till when i was about 4 years old, so immediately i saw this topic, i smiled because its time make confession and also tell you guys how its been with me in practiced.

I could not stop laughing, how i wish am home with my daughter to show in pictures how we often play the sleeping game.

Just to give a brief insight, Co-sleeping is when kids enjoy sleeping with either of their parents even when they are grown, Like i already said, it was like a culture for me while growing up, my mom would tell me how they will carry me to my bed in the other room, but the moment am awake, the whole environment will know that am awake, because when i turn, i expect to feel either of them on the bed with me, so when ever that is not true, my voice will be heard. my own case was not my mother trying to protect me but me always wanting to be with them.

Guest what?, my daughter is the carbon copy of
me, she will turn the house up side down with her voice especially at night, but unfortunately for her, i spent very few hours with her in months, when i begun doing it, her mom was of the opinion that we should allow her learn how to sleep on her own, i insisted that she should spent some more time with Dad and am glad that we did it.

My daughter in the first three months and two week slept in her Moses-basket but must be kept very close to our bed, i don't know how, God did it in her case that at any point she is not feeling or sensing somebody around her Moses-basket, she will wake, so we begun staying around her, frankly speaking, it is best for both the child and parent. she was moved to her pen, but after breastfeeding in the late hours of the day, she will have to be on the bed with us to avoid the night alarm. that was how she began sleeping with us till she grew up.

I practically enjoyed those moment with her, until latter my work took me way from them, and i began to spent months before visiting home, so even now at age three, she will sleep with me when ever am home till i am off, My wife was beginning to fear that when she is grown enough , she will spent more time with men, but within this days i made us very close that she tells me everything and anything, for me she has learn to trust that men are not beast.

This will really create intimacy and bond between kids and parents, though it affected our bed time but we had to re-strategize, which i know you understand and now we are happy about our decision we took then, so i want to say that no time is too late for Co-sleeping.
