Asian Pigeonwings

avatar

I have had this Asian Pigeonwings flower (or we called it Bunga Telang or Teleng) for quite some time in my home. At first, I plant the flower just to give some shade into the house, as it is really hot during the day.

This flower is considered a weed in the past because it grow very fast, and if it is left unmanaged, it can overgrow other plantations.

Who would ever know that this flower actually holds so many health benefits? The flower with the Latin name Clitoria ternatea is actually really good for your health.

You can dry the flower and use it for tea, it is good to help you reduce weight, or help you stimulate hair growth, which I really should try because of my receding hairline and also I keep on picking up some weight.

This is the vine of the flowers. It has a very long stem, with lots of leaves, making it a good choice to be used as a natural shade for the house.

I also planted that plant in my small yard. I like to drink these blue butterfly flowers with hot water and I also like to fry them with tempura.
