El Día Internacional de la Mujer se conmemora el 8 de marzo, una fecha que evoca la lucha de las mujeres por la igualdad de género y los derechos. Estas fechas son celebradas a nivel mundial, ya que este día es único para concienciar sobre la historia arriesgada por parte del gremio de mujeres del mundo, pero antes de ir más allá, vamos a conocer un poco sobre la historia de porque este día se conmemora para las mujeres.

El 8 de marzo se hace importante, con el comienzo obrero del siglo XX en donde las mujeres de la fábrica textil Triangle Shirtwaist en Nueva York se declararon en huelga en 1908 en demanda por mejores condiciones laborales y el sufragio femenino, desde ese día se tomó en consideración para celebrar la lucha de las mujeres a nivel mundial. Esta fecha es muy importante para todas esas mujeres que día a día nos esforzamos por hacer valer nuestros derechos, por permitir pasos gigantes en la historia, como se ha hecho hasta el momento ya que en nuestro avance en el mundo hemos tenido la oportunidad de brindar conocimiento a través de grandes experiencias de mujeres que han marcado la historia de la sociedad.

International Women's Day is commemorated on March 8, a date that evokes the struggle of women for gender equality and rights. These dates are celebrated worldwide, as this day is unique to raise awareness of the history risked by the women's guild of the world, but before we go further, let's know a little about the history of why this day is commemorated for women.

The 8th of March becomes important with the beginning of the 20th century when the women of the Triangle Shirtwaist textile factory in New York went on strike in 1908 in demand for better working conditions and women's suffrage, since that day was taken into consideration to celebrate the struggle of women worldwide. This date is very important for all those women who every day we strive to assert our rights, to allow giant steps in history, as it has been done so far because in our progress in the world we have had the opportunity to provide knowledge through great experiences of women who have marked the history of society.

En diferentes partes del mundo, este día es celebrado de diferentes formas ya sea a través de eventos, actividades, manifestaciones y conversatorios, todo para un fin en común, seguir la lucha para la igualdad de género, la discriminación y muy importante la violencia contra las mujeres. En Venezuela es muy activo este día, además que se hace presente muchos agasajos para las mujeres en diferentes lugares, es un día muy conmemorativo ya que nos ayudan a mantener las raíces de un legado que permanece en el tiempo.

A través @efemérides.com queremos conmemorar el "Día Internacional de la mujer" una fecha para resaltar aquellas mujeres excepcionales que dejaron una huella indeleble en la historia, cuyo legado sigue latente y que han derribado barreras, trazando el camino para las generaciones futuras, convirtiéndose hoy en día en un poderoso icono de empoderamiento y de igualdad.

In different parts of the world, this day is celebrated in different ways either through events, activities, demonstrations and discussions, all for a common purpose, to continue the fight for gender equality, discrimination and very importantly violence against women. In Venezuela this day is very active, in addition to many celebrations for women in different places, it is a very commemorative day as it helps us to maintain the roots of a legacy that remains in time.

Through @efemérides.com we want to commemorate the "International Women's Day" a date to highlight those exceptional women who left an indelible mark in history, whose legacy is still latent and who have broken down barriers, tracing the path for future generations, becoming today a powerful icon of empowerment and equality.

A lo largo de la historia hemos escuchado o leído sobre grandes figuras femeninas que impactaron por su valentía, audacia, perseverancia y determinación, por ejemplo:

Entre las mujeres que han marcado historia tenemos a:

  • Frida Kahlo - Artista mexicana conocida por sus pinturas surrealistas y su activismo político.

  • Luisa Cáceres de Arismendi - Heroína de la independencia venezolana.

  • Gabriela Mistral - Poeta chilena, la primera mujer latinoamericana en recibir el Premio Nobel de Literatura.

  • Marie Curie - Científica polaco-francesa, pionera en el campo de la radiactividad y primera mujer en recibir un Premio Nobel.

  • Teresa Carreño - Destacada pianista y compositora venezolana.

  • Juana de Arco - Heroína de Francia durante la Guerra de los Cien Años.

  • Amelia Earhart – Fue la primera mujer aviadora en volar sola a través del Océano Atlántico.

  • Coco Chanel - Una diseñadora de moda y empresaria francesa que fundó la marca Chanel.

  • Carolina Herrera - Diseñadora de moda venezolana conocida por sus elegantes y sofisticados diseños.

Entre otras mujeres que han demostrado su valía en diversos ámbitos de la vida que han sido inspiración, estas mujeres han dejado un legado que permanece en el tiempo, con los cuales nos vamos identificando, aunque aun faltan muchas, nos gustaría saber de su parte:

  • ¿Cuál es esa mujer que ha marcado la historia de la sociedad o tu vida?
  • ¿Con cuál te relacionas?

Puedes seleccionar cualquier otra que sientas que ha marcado un antes y un después en esta vida, además que haya sido conocida en el mundo por su labor, queremos leer esa historia que inspiran. Así que te esperamos en esta nuestra primera iniciativa de la comunidad.


Throughout history we have heard or read about great female figures who made an impact because of their courage, audacity, perseverance and determination, for example:

Among the women who have made history we have:

  • Frida Kahlo - Mexican artist known for her surrealist paintings and political activism.

  • Luisa Cáceres de Arismendi - Venezuelan independence heroine.

  • Gabriela Mistral - Chilean poet, the first Latin American woman to receive the Nobel Prize for Literature.

  • Marie Curie - Polish-French scientist, pioneer in the field of radioactivity and first woman to receive a Nobel Prize.

  • Teresa Carreño - Outstanding Venezuelan pianist and composer.

  • Joan of Arc - Heroine of France during the Hundred Years' War.

Among other women who have proven their worth in various areas of life that have been inspirational, these women have left a legacy that remains in time, with which we identify ourselves, although there are still many missing, we would like to hear from them:
