Hay algo que me he estado cuestionando estos días, según estadísticas de spotyfi dice que se suben por día más de 100.000 canciones y eso me ha puesto a pensar, tiene que a ver más de 30 canciones de rock al mes y eso me ha puesto a pensar en que puede que cuando decimos que el rock está muriendo, estamos errados pues puede que el problema es que estemos estancados aun en un bucle de escuchar lo mismo de hace años y quizás somos nosotros mismos quienes estamos matando el rock pues si no empezamos apoyar bandas nuevas y a esta nueva generación que quiere mantener vivo el rock, somos nosotros, los treintones que estamos siendo asesinos ja ja ja…

There’s something I’ve been wondering about lately. According to Spotify statistics, more than 100,000 songs are uploaded every day, and that got me thinking: there must be more than 30 rock songs uploaded every month. This has made me wonder if, when we say that rock is dying, we’re wrong—maybe the problem is that we’re still stuck in a loop of listening to the same stuff from years ago, and maybe we’re the ones killing rock. Because if we don’t start supporting new bands and this new generation that wants to keep rock alive, it’s us the thirty-somethings who are the killers, ha ha ha…

Ciertamente yo soy uno que se podría considerar cómplice pero quise salirme un poco de la zona afectada y empezar a conocer nuevos horizontes con este nuevo rock que propones nuevos artistas. Desde hace un par de semanas he venido escuchando algunas bandas que sin duda captaron mi intención más allá de llevar aun ese sonido de los 2000s eso sin duda da una buena sensación para aquellos que como yo, todavía seguía en ese bucle de lo antiguo. Por ejemplo, entiendo que Deftones ya sacó luego de varios años un nuevo disco y por supuesto, no dude en escucharlo y bueno, claro que está para disfrutarlo, con un Private Music como su décimo álbum se plantea como Deftones en su versión más actual sigue manteniendo su atmosfera sin perder golpe, y con un sonido ahora más curado esto debido a la nueva tecnología y por supuesto por la producción lo que lo hace sentirse moderno, sin abandonar lo que los define. A quienes les guste se lo recomiendo.

_I suppose I could be considered an accomplice, but I wanted to step outside that scene a bit and start exploring new horizons with this new rock music and the new artists you’re introducing. For the past couple of weeks, I’ve been listening to some bands that definitely caught my attention beyond just carrying that 2000s sound which certainly feels good for those of us who, like me, were still stuck in that old loop. For example, I understand that Deftones finally released a new album after several years, and of course, I didn’t hesitate to listen to it and well, of course it’s there to be enjoyed. With Private Music as their tenth album, Deftones present themselves in their most current form, maintaining their signature atmosphere without losing any of their punch, and with a sound that’s now more refined thanks to new technology and, of course, the production which makes it feel modern without abandoning what defines them. I recommend it to anyone who likes their style.

Ahora bien, a lo que vine a demostrarles que si existe aún el rock y que somos nosotros quienes nos quemados pegados ja ja ja… quiero presentarles a Sleep Theory quienes con su sonido nos presentan ritmos intensos, un buen bajo armónico y en ocasiones con alguna influencia de Blues. Me hacen recordar mucho a Linkin Park y bueno, esta canción que les presento es una de mis favoritas y de seguro pensarán igual que yo cuando vena el video y su rock. Y no es quedándome en el pasado, considero que le tienen ese cariño al sonido de linkin park pero ellos le han dado su toque personal agregándole muchos más ritmos y armonías como dije.

Anyway, I’m here to show you that rock is still alive and well, and that we’re the ones who’ve been burned out ha ha ha… I’d like to introduce you to Sleep Theory, whose sound features intense rhythms, a great harmonic bassline, and occasional blues influences. They remind me a lot of Linkin Park, and well, this song I’m sharing with you is one of my favorites, and I’m sure you’ll feel the same way when you see the video and hear their rock. And it’s not about staying stuck in the past; I think they have that love for Linkin Park’s sound, but they’ve added their own personal touch by incorporating many more rhythms and harmonies, as I mentioned.
