No podemos mentirnos, y tampoco lo pondremos en discusión pero en verdad que la rutina diaria y las exigencias del trabajo sin duda que para todos se nos vuelve pesado el día. En mí caso entre las labores mecánicas, logística y responsabilidades que suman día a día, no mentiré, en ocasiones se me satura la mente hasta llegar un punto donde el cuerpo simplemente pide un respiro, un espacio para pausar y reconectar contigo mismo.

We can’t lie to ourselves, and we won’t even argue about it, but the truth is that the daily routine and the demands of work undoubtedly make the day feel heavy for all of us. In my case, between the mechanical tasks, logistics, and responsibilities that pile up day after day I won’t lie sometimes my mind gets so overwhelmed that it reaches a point where my body simply asks for a break, a moment to pause and reconnect with myself.

Es también cierto que he dicho en muchas ocasiones que trabajar frente al mar es precioso pero como todo trabajo, tiene sus exigencias. No estoy de paseo, trabajo y tengo un jefe que en muchas ocasiones suele ser un poco pesado. A caso ustedes han tenido mejores jefes? Ja ja ja… Ayer mientras hacía algunas diligencias referentes a mis labores decidí tomar una pequeña pausa y detenerme un momento en la cinta costera de mi ciudad natal. Necesitaba que el aire marino despejara la jornada y, por supuesto, no pude evitar tomar algunas fotografías.

It’s also true that I’ve said many times that working by the ocean is wonderful, but like any job, it has its demands. I’m not on vacation I’m working, and I have a boss who can often be a bit of a pain. Have any of you had better bosses? Ha ha ha… Yesterday, while running some errands related to my job, I decided to take a short break and stop for a moment along the waterfront in my hometown. I needed the sea air to clear my head, and, of course, I couldn’t resist taking a few photos.

Al llegar me encontré con la fuerza del mar agitado y el contraste de la luz de la tarde. Los peñeros de pesca reposaban a lo largo de la orilla y como es normal, bautizados con nombres como "El Primogénito" o "Mi Alegría" cargando su madera envejecida historias de jornadas en alta mar. Lo que me gusto de esta pequeña e improvisada sesión es el contraste del blanco y negro. El mismo resalta la sobriedad del entorno, la silueta solitaria, los árboles que se inclinan ante el viento y el romper de las olas. Capturar estas escenas no solo fue un ejercicio fotográfico, sino una pausa necesaria que me devolvió la calma antes de cerrar el día. Espero que disfruten de esta serie.

When I arrived, I was struck by the power of the choppy sea and the contrast of the afternoon light. The fishing boats lay along the shore, and as is typical, bore names like “El Primogénito” or “Mi Alegría,” their weathered wood bearing the stories of days spent on the high seas. What I liked about this small, impromptu photo session was the contrast between black and white. It highlights the simplicity of the setting, the solitary silhouette, the trees bending in the wind, and the crashing waves. Capturing these scenes wasn’t just a photographic exercise it was a much-needed break that restored my calm before the day came to a close. I hope you enjoy this series.
