Hola, Hivers:

Hoy es un día especial. Hace un año Lorena y yo nos hicimos novios. Así es, tenemos un año de novios y casi cinco meses de casados (los cumplimos el 9 de noviembre).

A pesar de que no hubo celebraciones, recordamos la fecha y de cómo fue aquel día y los siguientes, de la emoción que sentimos cuando le pregunté si quería ser mi novia, y de los planes que empezamos a trazar desde ese entonces. Y acá estamos, un años después, ya casados y cumpliendo nuestras metas juntos.

Por ser una ocasión especial le escribí un poema, y quiero compartirlo con ustedes:

Algo sencillo pero con mucho significado. La verdad es que estoy muy feliz de estar con ella y de ser parte de su vida y que ella sea parte de mi vida. Estamos aprendiendo el uno del otro, y estamos aprendiendo a cultivar cualidades como la paciencia y la bondad, el autocontrol y la empatía. Al mismo tiempo, tratamos de tener una comunicación efectiva y afectiva. Cabe decir, por lo tanto, que tratamos de ser asertivos.

Claro que hemos tenido nuestros retos y también nuestras discusiones, pero hemos aprendido a pedir perdón y pasar por alto las diferencias.

Lo bueno de todo es que ya no estoy solo, y que algo que pensé sería imposible se hizo realidad. Dicen que la vida es una caja de bombones... Ustedes ya conocen el resto.

Algo que sí me da un poquito de tristeza es que no lo pudimos celebrar, no pudimos salir a tomar un café o comer una torta o ir a algún sitio a caminar o de paseo. Para muchos estas cosas no son importantes, pero cuando estás en los inicios de una relación siempre quieres recordar todo: desde la primera conversación hasta el primer beso, o incluso las primeras palabras que se dijeron.

Ya tendremos tiempo para consentirnos e ir a un sitio que tanto nos gusta, que la verdad es que nos hace mucha falta.

Si ustedes tienen un amor bonito, no lo dejen y luchen con todas sus fuerzas, porque vale la pena querer y que a uno lo quieran también.

Hello, Hivers:

Today is a special day. One year ago Lorena and I became sweethearts. That's right, we have been engaged for a year and married for almost five months (our anniversary is November 9).

Although there were no celebrations, we remember the date and how it was that day and the following ones, the excitement we felt when I asked her if she wanted to be my girlfriend, and the plans we started to draw since then. And here we are, one year later, already married and fulfilling our goals together.

Because it was a special occasion I wrote her a poem, and I want to share it with you:

Something simple but with a lot of meaning. The truth is that I am very happy to be with her and to be part of her life and for her to be part of my life. We are learning from each other, and we are learning to cultivate qualities like patience and kindness, self-control and empathy. At the same time, we are trying to have effective and affective communication. It is worth saying, therefore, that we try to be assertive.

Sure, we have had our challenges and our arguments, but we have learned to apologize and overlook differences.

The good thing is that I am no longer alone, and that something I thought would be impossible has become a reality. They say that life is a box of chocolates... You already know the rest.

One thing that makes me a little sad is that we couldn't celebrate, we couldn't go out for a coffee or a cake or go for a walk or a ride somewhere. For many people these things are not important, but when you are in the beginning of a relationship you always want to remember everything: from the first conversation to the first kiss, or even the first words that were said.

We'll have time to pamper ourselves and go to a place we love so much, which we really need.

If you have a beautiful love, do not give it up and fight with all your strength, because it is worth it to love and to be loved too.
