Una vez alguien me dijo que no podía soñar en cosas extraordinarias, que debía apegarme a mi destino y que no tratara de buscar cosas mejores porque esa era la vida que me había tocado y no podría escapar de ella.

Es curioso encontrarse con personas que quieren restarte, hacerte sentir que no vales y que deberías dejar de hacer lo que te gusta, o dejar de luchar por aquello que tanto deseas.

Lo peor de todo es que uno a veces se cree esas cosas, cuando la verdad es que somos tan valiosos y que lo que soñamos y queremos en realidad sí importa.

Hoy, una vez más, me di cuenta de lo afortunado que he sido. Tengo a una esposa que me ama, y tengo un buen sitio donde vivir. Le conté a mi esposa mis vivencias y desenterré muchos recuerdos casi olvidados por lo dolorosas que fueron esas vivencias. Y me di cuenta, mientras le contaba todo eso, que soy un superviviente, que pude estar en una situación peor, pero yo elegí evitar eso, seguir un buen rumbo y dejar mi huella, si es que puedo dejar algo que valga la pena, aunque mi nombre no se recuerde, eso es lo de menos.

Once someone told me I couldn't dream of extraordinary things, that I should stick to my destiny and not try to find better things because that was the life that had been dealt to me and I couldn't escape it.

It's curious to find people who want to take away from you, make you feel like you're not worth it and that you should stop doing what you like, or stop fighting for what you want so much.

The worst part is that sometimes you believe those things, when the truth is that we are so valuable and what we dream and want really does matter.

Today, once again, I realized how lucky I have been. I have a wife who loves me, and I have a good place to live. I told my wife about my experiences and dug up many memories almost forgotten because they were so painful experiences. And I realized, while I was telling her all this, that I am a survivor, that I could have been in a worse situation, but I chose to avoid that, follow a good path and leave my mark, if I can leave something that is worth it, even if my name is not remembered, that is the least of it.
