I reached Champion III and am SPS obsessed

In case you have been living under a rock, I would like to inform you about the meteoric rise of Splinterlands. You know the spell Meteor from Final Fantasy? That's how impressive this phenomenon is right now!

I have always loved fantasy and RPGs, which is why I get drawn into the different Splinters and their lore. Each battle tells a story about your chosen lineup of characters as they work together for victory.

I am so proud to have attained the champion league for the first time since the collection power system was implemented, making it much more difficult to get there. Before, you could regularly count on some underwhelming bots to progress further along, now that so many players are optimizing their pick of cards, you gotta hustle and find your way past teams, often more powerful than your own.

This is why even though I have attained Champion I once, this level makes a perfectly challenging goal to aim for. I would be happy simply to land here again in the future. Playing so much is time consuming and to be honest I have been quite frustrated when I lost many games in a row. However, it has been easier to stay in a given league than to progress to the next one, which has helped me hang in there to reach my goal, not sliding down the ranks of a previous league.

I just can't believe how many level 10 cards are playing, even in Diamond III!

At the end of the day, it should be a fun experience, so I am happy to make sure that I play in moderation. I love the ease of use where the new rental system is concerned, it's perfect for taking a break and focussing on other things.

I love my collection, so I have been elated, and that's putting it mildly, about the fact that its value has increased eightfold in the past 6 months. The user base has seen astounding growth as you can see in this official post from the team.

On the flip side, because you best believe there always is one, Splinterlands is somewhat a victim of its own success, making it less affordable for the common of mortals to play with the advanced abilities of the creatures and heroes.

Therefore I suggest we invent a rule, it could be called Battle of the Kaiju (a Kaiju is a giant beast like Godzilla), where low-level players can experience their cards at one level higher than their current league and maxed out. Let's say you are playing Silver, any gold card you own is level 3, the max of the gold league, one above.

It would help with the fun factor for lower league players, in the same way Reverse Speed gives an edge to slow cards.

It is very important that people of all budgets can feel validated and valued among players because let's face it, some of these cards cost more than 10 brand new video game consoles put together.

I for one, applaud any person with tenacity who grows one of their Splinters and battles against other players with a burning desire to win! Anyone interested in provable ownership of game assets is a pioneer and a tech disruptor and the fact we can come together as a community is beautiful.

Another thing that can be annoying is having cards which you can't play for their full force unless you get to Diamond III. That being said, during the last few days of a season, many powerful players are duking it out at higher ranks, creating an opportunity to explore the potential of these cards.

After not playing for a while, I was in the Bronze league and climbed through the ranks at the end of a season and came near beating my 30 game winning streak. That was absolutely epic!

I would later need that Ego boost as I was getting pummelled and eating humble pie in Diamond.

It is a roller coaster of emotions and I feel so satisfied that I can put my competitive spirit aside for the next season. Maybe I will get reading the Lore a little bit more and learn about Anumun or the Gloridax.

SPS Yes, please and thank you!

Now let's talk about the elephant in the room. Thank you for the SPS Spliterlands, if I have made some Defi miscalculations in the past it's nothing that a bunch of free money won't fix!

Power in the game is a saying that's not lame! The incentive to hold is palpable here, especially in the last few days when the token is magically valuable, who would have thunk?

I love farming Cake, so I sold some SPS for BNB to create an interesting LP position on Pancake swap. It can also hedge losses if the price tanks but right now, it's the opposite! How exciting is that?

In the business of cryptocurrency, timing is everything, and it just so happens that SPS arrives during a huge influx of players who find a governance token attractive. It is riveting for example that a robust SPS position will be required for early access (and discount) to the new expansion: Chaos Legion.

I always thought that Hive was a way to keep an ear to the ground in the world of crypto, but I never expected that its ecosystem would be central in making things happen. Take cub for example, sure there was a difficult price drop at first, but the team has managed to turn things around and offer investors remarkable stability, especially when looking at top BSC projects like Bunny. It seems like the bigger they are, the harder they fall, and that Cub is the little mouse that freed the lion from the net.

I for one am excited about the Sugar Rush IDO with CUB-BNB and CUB-BUSD. I can't wait to migrate to Pancake V2 and have the proper LPs to participate.

I mean look at those Kawaii treats, how can they not be a raging success? Ok so maybe they won't be but let’s hope that these early partnerships usher the collaborative era of Cub in an auspicious way!

Any financial indications in this post are meant to be understood as opinion. Crypto is risky, be responsible.

Every excitement in this post is well deserved. Attaining the Champion levels these days is no easy feat. I can remember I used to struggle to get there before the collection power upgrade was made, now I’m stuck in the gold levels, but even at that I still get my ass kicked quite a lot. So yeah congrats on reaching that. I also agree with the sentiments about SPS, the most interesting part of it is yet to come, if history has taught us anything, it’s that these prices of SPS may be the lowest we will ever have. Let’s not forget, exclusive deals will only come to SPS holders, trust Splinterlands team to pull this off, they’ve done it before.

congrats on reaching champion league. It is nice to see that for someone else last season was memorable in a good way. I would like to forget it as soon as possible.

I love playing with high level cards but renting them is damn costly.
