Happy day to everyone in this digital ecosystem, a community that helps me express the deepest feelings in difficult moments.
Today I meet with you to tell you about the process of changing habits, not only to improve my physical appearance, but it is a necessity to improve my quality of life, especially when I am close to 50 years old next 2023.
We are in a society where the visual is imposed, although we say that feelings are what people value today, unfortunately that expression for me has become simply a "new fashion". When we are women and we pass the age of 40, our habits will define our quality of life, because it depends on it if we want to live with physical problems, diseases or how we want to spend our life cycles.

Before the age of 25 years old.
I remember that I was very energetic, I spent my time walking, dancing, in constant movement, although in relation to food I always liked fast food, empanadas, hamburgers, hot dogs, pizzas and I think I did not assimilate it so slowly, and that is why I was relatively well, I did not suffer from discomfort in my knees, and my biggest ailments were due to a gastritis that I developed as a result of the food I consumed.
As for my weight, it was relatively stable, I did not gain much, I imagine because I was very active, as I told you, I walked everywhere because I did not have a car, I did not study in my city and economic resources were quite restricted so I had to save to be able to travel back home and to be able to eat during the week.

After the age of 40, it is very difficult for women to live in this society. As I mentioned at the beginning, people are extremely visual, so being overweight and not being in the standards of feminine beauty in a country where they have a contest recognized by the world about the "Venezuelan woman" is really complex.
When you have 40 years of consumption of unhealthy food, our whole body begins to deteriorate, so we begin a process of involution, we can be overweight and for this reason the knees begin to suffer with osteoarthritis, our hands swell out of nowhere, we get tired when we walk and our mind is filled with unpositive thoughts, which lead us to ask ourselves important questions: Do I want to continue like this? Is this the life I should live? When will I take action to improve my lifestyle?

I confess that the decision to change habits came not individually, but as a result of some groups where I joined on the network and that become that point of support especially when we are in our first week. I am 48 years old and my life is spent between home, work and sitting in front of the computer, then just the basics at home, eating, personal hygiene, sleeping. As you can see I have gone from being very active to being sedentary.
In spite of so many questions in my life, the decision was born as a result of some unpleasant pains in my body, which prevented me from walking, at that moment I thought, I am only 48 years old, if I want to reach at least 75 years of age, how will I achieve it if I continue living this way?
It is not easy at all and I say this especially to young people, who think, well, nothing, with a few exercises I can continue my life, and I tell you that I thought the same thing, and I continued consuming sugar on a large scale and losing weight is extremely difficult, even though I changed my habits, it is a slow process.
As time goes by, our organism gets slower, I think it is a product of what we consume, that is why I recommend starting from an early age to make healthy changes, incorporating a really balanced diet, and here some of you who read me will say that if we do not have the resources for this diet, how can we do it?.
Well, there are many alternatives, the important thing is to be aware of the damage we are doing to ourselves, and that the decisions we make can be to improve the quality of life.
Today I am only 2 weeks into this process, not easy when you are in a home where sugar consumption is excessive, where they want to eat everything fried and a lot of bread. Soda is consumed as water and very little exercise they like to do... I for my part have had to be brave not to fall back into my bad habits, that's why I like it and that the children see me, because that way they understand that they must make these changes from a young age so they do not suffer from as many ailments as I did.
I am going little by little, very short goals so as not to relapse, I think day by day, and although I am not on an extreme diet, I eliminated some things that really hurt me like bread, soda, and I incorporated water and dancing to this process. Now I laugh more about things, the happiness hormones are being reactivated and that makes me feel much better.
El cambio depende de nosotros, debemos siempre tomar el control de nuestra vida.
Change depends on us, we must always take control of our lives.
