RE: Doing Our Parts To Secure The Network

I would personally do it using what I've learned from the dsteem api.
Can't say I've actually seen a way to do it on a frontend.
There's is probably a SteemConnect command solution as well...

The real question is: who do you trust with your account recovery more than Steemit.com? Even in light of this acquisition, the answer might be no one else.

I guess how "at risk" is my account if somehow Steemit ended up in the wrong hands?

Can they change my password and lock me out of my own account, or the can only do something if they have access to my email as well?

They (whoever's your recovery account is set to) need to know a master/owner password that your account has used within the last 30 days to change anything.
