1 out of 4 people in El Salvador already uses Bitcoin - Luke is Alive #150 - September 23, 2021
Taking into account that the population of El Salvador was 6,453,553 in 2019, according to World Bank data, the 1.6 million people who already downloaded the Chivo wallet, equals 24.79% of the total inhabitants. In other words, 1 out of every 4 inhabitants of the Central American nation uses Bitcoin or plans to use it.
The Salvadoran government has invested resources in educating the population on the use of the Chivo wallet. In addition to an advertising video, a house-to-house campaign was started to teach people how to download the software and learn how to use it.
