dCity delivers SIMULATION tab, Central Bank combine closed today, and FARM corporation will start up this afternoon.

avatar

Its an auspicious day for dCity, as we get close to the reward pool changes, today some hours after the payout @gerber has said he will deactivate the Central Bank and in turn, activate the new combine, Farm Corporation.

But what really attracted my attention this morning, was the new SIMULATION tab!

Above you can see what would happen if I removed the 'Cold Fusion' Tech from my city, I would require a lot more population, and thus many buildings would not function. To know this information previously, I would use city helper to send the cold fusion to another account, wait 30 seconds, then review the city again. I think this simulation tab will provide hours of entertainment to once and future players of dCity!

This leaves only the 'STATS' tab as the final piece of the complete overhaul of the dCity user interface undertaken by the team. With these continuous releases and constant improvements of the earlier features, we can see that dCity is truly 'coming out of Beta'.

image.png

I know it has been unpopular to use taxes to test and play at some of the more marginal conditions of dCity, but I actually consider it to be one of the most unique aspects of the project. We are capable, through governance mechanism, to 'dry up the supply' during a crucial time. So many players have said to me that 'third edition took too long', but I see that its here, better than ever, and improving, so I am thankful that we have to will to tighten our belts for this period.

Remember that the STATS tab is tied into the new dCity API, which will be used to report our very competetive tx numbers to gaming sites like dappradar. I still have not heard from anyone with experience with getting listed on these sites, reach out to your friends or co-workers if necessary let's get someone with the knowledge to get this done!

image.png

As you can see, pretty much all dapp Radar's hot topics fit within dCity's parameters

In terms of governance, the Global Sim Power number continues to shrink, we are looking at 87.8 million as of yesterday and continuing to drop by over 1 million per day. This SIM power will be used to choose how the reward pool gets distributed, and indeed how much of it per day does get distributed.

Additionally holders can vote for holding rewards, which are set to double to a max of 200 per day with the pending governance enhancement. Currently the APY is low, but should continue to increase as the float drops.

image.png

All in all I am still extremely bullish on the ongoing development of dCity. I am looking to lower the taxes back down after two days experimenting with the new church mechanic fixed what it needed to fix. Whatever was fixed, we may not know, since rewards did come more than three hours late yesterday, we can be assured that everything was fixed and is now working like a charm!

Make sure you keep at least 1 law firm, don't turn them all into Central Banks :)

I still haven't stockpiled SIM, but instead bought some Weed Dispensarys off the market for 650 SIM each.

It's clearly the wrong choice of course. I don't know what I've been smoking ;).

Wow nice grab! I think there is still some capitulation that needs to happen, but its healthier for the game economy in the long run.

1 law firm

My city is fairly small so I haven't even bothered because I didn't think it was worth it. At this point getting 0.01 SIM is whatever I get plus the citizens mined everyday.

Good point, the tech and citizen mining are the best aims for small cities I think, and can be built very efficiently!

Whoa! I didn't know about the new Farm Corporation after the Central Bank was discontinued (I was able to get one of them) but I'll definitely be checking that out! I noticed the SIMULATION tab a few days ago though, and I figured that's what it's for... not sure if I'll do much with it. Overall though, I'm really digging the new developments... despite it taking me quite a while to get the hang of it. Thanks for this heads up! All good things. :)

Sorry, you're out of LUV tokens to be sent today. Try tomorrow. (Having at least 10 LUV in your wallet allows you to freely give 3 per day.)

Spent about a month playing this, was the main aim to get 8000 sims for the holding bonus, Get a military base and a law firm. As well as the various factories.
Now I'm wondering what is next and I just keep thinking just to keep building up houses and such.
any advice

I checked out your city, looks good, to build now try to head for ~350 popularity to maximize your chance of mining new citizens. As you grow, Soak up the unemployment with schools or research to up your tech-mining chance as well!

I had my city, but suddenly I lost all the SIMs I was earning in a day and then I got discouraged, I think that with so many changes I should give it a new chance.

Very informative post, cleared out a lot of things.

No doubt, Simulator is not a good but great tool to optimize one's city.

Shoot. I Sold my law firms and Lots of farms.

I keep feeling like the game is going under. But I'll check out these new features, especially this stimulation tab.

I missed being able to evaluate my city and know what it needs

The more I focus on getting to understand the third edition, the more interesting the game gets ( once again ). It's in a way, like crypto and the blockchain in general. There is so much to be learnt for those willing to learn. It's one big sandbox and we can all play in it.
