US immigrants are winning, So why do they hate them?

I let people on Twitter get me worked up...and that is absolutely my fault.

But when I take sides in an argument like this I discover parts of myself I didn't know existed.

I really do not like Black Republicans. I used to think we thought alike but it's clear that some of them clearly do not want me around them.

In a way, I understand their sentiments but I feel like they don't understand mine, which makes me feel like we aren't listening to one another.

Many of them insult Africans saying we smell weird or they have one offensive thought against us or the other.

As a doctor who hopes to move abroad and settle there...it is mildly triggering to have those feelings projected toward you.

I don't even have issues with these people. Quite frankly I like them when they are rapping and acting in movies. I didn't know I'd be so angry talking to some of them.

What happened on Twitter

Saw a post saying that a Nigerian shot up an airport. Which to me was funny initially reading it...the other sentences that followed are the reason I'm writing this post.

What the hell is the meaning of this?

A Nigerian immigrant shoots up Dallas airport. Please make sure ya'll @ all news outlets to make sure they don't put this crime on us. Nigerians need to be BANNED & DEPORTED asap. We don't need anymore criminals in our Communities. 💯 https://t.co/6Rj54IFuT3

Apparently, this has been going on on Twitter for longer than I can trace back. There are many angry people on both sides...what's even more annoying is how right everyone thinks they are.

So...a lot of what was being tossed around was that Africans are bad, Africans don't want to develop Africa and we are destructive to their economy.

Their views

It stems from a lot of Conservative, Right-wing Republican ideology forgetting that Donald Trump was the son of an Immigrant, Obama...same thing, Dr Mike (most popular doctor YouTube influencer)...same thing and the list of successful immigrants are so long.

I'm trying to let it go. I turned off the notifications from the tweet but I swear it stinks. It feels like they are projecting hate toward us.

The world

It is filled with hate in many forms and hate is contagious.

I am sorry about those who wronged these people and I don't want to be any part of it. I just want to move abroad and take care of my family. If I can't accomplish that as an immigrant...then I'm losing. But I won't lose...because I never have and I never will.

Oh, you should see the works of comedian Clayton Thomas. A lot of the stuff are memes, but in them, even the black folks in the US draw lines of difference between themselves and more recent African immigrants.

I'll let you draw your own conclusions.

This is sad the generalization is massive. There are bad Americans too, there are bad people from everywhere and it's clear this one saying this kinds of things are either bad or ignorant as they sound.

This doesn't stop anyone tho.. achieve your dreams and goals. You can move anywhere you want..

One of the things that you have to do is stay away from a lot of those things and discussions. They are meant to divide and incite more of a polarized reaction than they are to have a nuanced discussion.
