Crimson Clad: The face of Hive

Recently, I have been diagnosed with Complex PTSD. Judging from my posts on it no one really cares about it so I wont go into it too much. Long story short, after having my Brain waves read, I operate in high beta while my brain processes information at a speed 2-3x faster than the average person. This does not allow for me operate with most groups of people in a cohesive way.

After many years of silence and participation of downvoting in a political way towards content on Steem and Hive by witnesses; I removed my votes for everyone. I have spent some time reflecting on my time with Steem and now Hive. So many people that have come and gone. The rewards pool system attracted digital nomadic people to a decentralized world that is messy, disorganized and for many years seemed like just a plutocratic stronghold for millionaires to continually circle jerk their stake while gaining a squad begging for upvotes or delegation. While certainly these observations I have made and continue to make still hold true there arrrrr finally things emerging on Hive that I have always said we needed, namely a more diverse set of investors with a more diverse set of political opinions. It makes me sick seeing witnesses aimlessly downvote political content and Chinese authors while quoting an apples jack cereal commercial... We downvote what we like! Anyways...

@crimsonclad has been there from the beginning for a lot of us. She is the hardest and most dedicated person on Hive that is not running a node but still is connected to the best witnesses on Hive, manages a lot of groups on Hive and makes time for individuals in a caring way that leaves all parties feeling satisfied. She is the best moderator, mediator, group leader, host and Hive representative. While she does have great support from many people and witnesses; how she handles people is amazing. She has been one of the most solid and reliable people I have came across in my life. She is only trying to make Hive succeed while building solid communities and most importantly the Hive ecosystem. She has allowed for me to feel good about Hive time and time again. There is no denying her heart and hardwork overshadows big money downvotes and any negative feelings I have towards them.

With Splinterlands walking Hive through the Crypto space in ways that only a centralized force can with cross chain asset management and liquidity pools (for Hive based currencies) on multiple exchanges while bringing attention to Hive with big money investors and exponential account creation from their wild success, I need to refocus and prioritize my perspective. This is why I will set a proxy for my Witness votes on multiple accounts to @crimsonclad. No longer will I get distracted from the political downvotes from our witnesses and their silence from them but rather focus on High APRs and collecting NFTs from Splinterlands and @nftshowroom!

I'm sorry it took me so long to come around and make a comment on this post. First and foremost, I want to tell you from my heart that reading this made me feel all of the crazy range of emotions that I feel about Hive. This place encapsulate all of the best and all of the worst in people, but overall I think it is a wonderful adventure and I have been so proud to sink the time and effort into the community and the tech everyday. I believe so strongly that individuals can come here and shape their own your journey in a way way that is positive, and I also know that some of the things that are here also represent some of the darker inevitabilities of human nature.

Overall, I think that Hive is this fantastic mix of people who are exploring what it means to break away from a rigidly structured technocracy that is forcing people into unhappy, controlled relationships with social media and with disruptive tech in general. When I'm here, I always speak honestly and I always hope that people will do the same with me. I just want to put it out there that it is really meaningful that you even took the time to write a whole post saying that you appreciate the way that I am, because it doesn't get you anything but it does make myself and others feel amazing- that goes a long way in terms of creating the type of vibe the people want to join in on. That's what I hope for here, even if sometimes we as a community miss the mark.

I just want to reiterate that I put a lot of myself into these communities as you pointed out, but it is in the long run fairly selfish. I want Hive to do well. I want my friends to do well. I want my community to do well. All of those things make my life better too. The efforts that I put in aren't just because it's a nice thing to do for others, but because I believe strongly in the network effect that we each have a solid reach that we can use make the lives of people around us better. That always comes back to you, somewhere, sometime...even if it's as simple as your own community is stronger and healthier and can support you back better.

Just in the interest of clarity, I actually am one of the top twenty witnesses right now, and my personal witness votes are quite widespread. There are some lesser-known people who I believe have great heart and know a lot about the tech that our platform runs on. There are people who I think have been long-term pillars of everything that makes Hive amazing. I think there are probably some people I vote for that do have different upvote and downvote ideals than me also- at the end of the day I think my witness list is a good one, but it can always change. I hope that proxying to it allows you to focus on the things that are important to you, and that if there ever comes a time you disagree with me that you feel comfortable and happy revoking that knowing there's never any hard feelings in disagreement on important governance choices.

With all that, I just wanted to tell you that I appreciate you. And this. Sometimes being here seems thankless, from the smallest user to the biggest witness. Some of us probably could benefit from being reminded that the money aspect can help us make decisions that are overall better for the platform. Some of us can use the reminder that money decisions remove the heart and soul out of people who are building our community and will be the death of us. Politics and marketplaces form anywhere that people gather. I don't know that we'll ever be away from it, but focusing yourself on the things that are best for you and your overall goals will never go wrong. Thanks for being part of our community.

To be honest I can only remember irritating you and feeling guilty about it. Also pushing coffee enemas too much in PAL but maybe @clayboyn found my coffee enema ramblings delightful or rather amusing.

Finding balance and not over thinking things is something, as an observer, I can appreciate in you and look up to. Most importantly your consistency and hard work gives me faith in humanity and Canada! You are old school, a bad ass rock n roll person with a yuge heart and you honestly do believe and trust the plan... before it was cool thing to say on Reddit.

The steem downturn really was the nail in the coffin for me health wise. I was not 100% when I came back to posting and interacting with the Hive community a year and half later. You were there and helped a lot so thanks for dealing with my mental fog last year and still holding down my dynamicgreentk account.

The witnesses support you and you support Hive. I gotta get over the downvotes and embrace it and enjoy my new wealth with Hive🤣. Yeah, ironically enough a more macro circle jerk happened with Upbit and Hive but truly all the Hardwork you do with Agg, Isaria, Julia, clay and others is undeniable. Hive will sustain and have a bright future cause of yall and not because of some safe guarding of a rewards system but because of fully realizing the dream of a decentralized blockchain and what the possibilities could be with some team work, faith and perseverance.... yes a lil Canadian Love does goes a long way eh?
