What's up basketball fans! I am here again @dwin0603 to give you another exciting basketball discussion for another episode of NBA Talk, and today we will talk about the latest news and updates for the 2019 offseason! Let's start!

The Toronto Raptors recently offer a 1-year $31 million contract extension to their franchise point guard Kyle Lowry. But why is it only for one year? ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski breaks down the reason why the Raptors extend Lowry for 1 year.

Lowry will make $33 million this season and then the extra one year would give him another $31 million. That would make a contending team interested in Kyle Lowry. That is what Woj believes and it may be true.

Lowry was a big part of the 2019 NBA Finals where the Toronto Raptors defeated the mighty Golden State Warriors. Plenty of teams are interested in the veteran point guard and those teams are the Los Angeles Clippers, Minnesota Timberwolves, and the Miami Heat. Maybe it's also time for the Raptors to start a rebuild.

People often overlook the fact that players have a say in these matters too. Maybe that is all he wanted.

It makes sense for him to keep his options open since the Raptors are looking at a downhill slide coming up.
