Reach for the high in life. Live big. Ride your bike. Fly a kite. Run. Run faster. Volunteer your time. Read to one who can't. Make jello and watch it dance. Stamp out poverty. Take a walk through the woods. Kiss your kids. Again. Then of course, again. Do you reach for that high?
What do you define as living big? Everyone has a different idea on what they consider living big. To me, that is a matter of perspective. But, isn't it always? The small things in life happen to do it for me. All these little things added together make life big. If I have little things all week long, it is an amazing week. I smile all the way through. If I only look forward to vacations or a life changing event, I have only a moment in time. Perhaps it will carry me through, but, more than likely, it will be buried in the more mundane part of life that is swirling around your hemisphere.
Step into the sun and shine, my friend, wherever you go, whatever you do. Catch the joy of your day and pass it on. It is so easy to leave a spot of happiness upon another. It doesn't take grand gestures or even money to do it. I have to say, it usually starts with a smile.
Small gestures. Little niceties. This reminds me to seek the beauty in the smallest of things. After a while, you don't even have to seek them out, they migrate to find you. Days like this, I just want to breathe deep and let the feeling take me over.
Le sigh.
It is so easy to just reach out, you will never know if your presence will help generate something positive in another’s life. It is a chance I don't mind taking.
Alas, I contemplate, the sunset connects with a deeper, conceivably more profound part of myself and this amazing world we live in! The hues of the surrounding sky make for an image that shines beauty on everything it touches, including my soul, oh, my soul! And I think to myself - what a wonderful world.
All I have are my words, armed in my mind, written in pen, stand by stand. Oh, yes. Still by hand. It has a different feel. Altered not by keys, backspace, and delete, I write, erase, tear it to pieces and start all over again. And again.
It’s my way. I walk out to the deep end of the page and dive right in.
Scary Bear is the barn cat. She keeps it all under control. I am willing to loan her out to @wwwiebe for a minute or three. Just saying. Hello! It is #Caturday!

That first paragraph about doing small things, is what life is all about. I had a small moment today at the Conservatorium of Music and the value I gained is immeasurable. My next post outlines the moment. It's the small things you mention here that can mean the most in life.

The small things in life indeed matter. For me it's short walks in during sunset. Your barn cat is so adorable.

It really is. Sometimes unnoticeable until we think back on them. Short walks at sunset are such a lovely way to end the day.
The barn cat just showed up one day. He is called Grey. :) He is gray also. You can join the #caturday challenge without a cat. There just has to be a cat picture you took.

You write with so much soul Denise. I love the small things and the tiny moments, they can change your life if you let them and my idea of living big is probably quite different to the average person and how they define success. I strive to be a force for good in the world in the small ways that I can, for me, that is it - being authentic and simply striving to do better with every step and every moment. Thank you for reminding me. I have flu at the moment so I found this at just the right timing.
