Day of the cross of May.
Good evening my good people, happy Tuesday, today the third of May in my beautiful Venezuela is celebrated the vigil of the cross of May, a cultural and religious tradition that takes place in many regions.
This celebration consists of paying homage to nature and it is especially at this time when the rainy season begins and the harvests begin to bless the land and ask for its protection and prosperity for the rest of the year.
This is carried out mainly by preparing an altar where a cross is placed, preferably a wooden cross completely covered with colorful and brightly colored paper, it is also accompanied by music from each region, drinks and typical sweets are distributed in our case carato of mango and chichas and rich sweets and prayers.
In my workplace we have been joining this tradition for 5 years, these two previous years, we could not do it because of the pandemic but this year if we organized to do it normally is done on the day itself or a day like today, but for reasons beyond our control we could not but we will celebrate it tomorrow.
So all the girls organized ourselves to decorate our cross making roses and gluing them, others will be in charge of the food and others of the drinks, while the boys are in charge of weaving the palms, looking for the priest and the music.
Here I show you a preview of how the cross was dressed and weaving the palm, photos of my property.

Buenísimas noche mi gente buena, feliz martes hoy tres de mayo en mi Venezuela bella se celebra el velorio de la cruz de mayo una tradición cultural y a su vez religiosa que se lleva a cabo en muchas regiones.
Esta celebración consiste en hacerle un homenaje a la naturaleza y es especialmente en esta época donde inicia la temporada de lluvia y a su vez inician las cosechas para bendecir las tierras y pedir por su protección y prosperidad durante el resto del año.
Esta se lleva a cabo principalmente preparando un altar donde se coloca una cruz preferiblemente de madera forrada completamente con papeles de colores muy vivos y llamativos, también va acompañada de músicas propias de cada región, se reparten bebidas y dulce típicos en nuestro caso carato de mango y chichas y ricos dulces y rezos.
En mi sitio de trabajo llevamos 5 años uniéndonos a esta tradición, estos dos años anteriores, no lo pudimos hacer debido a la pandemia pero este año si nos organizamos para hacerlo normalmente se hace el propio día ósea un día como hoy, pero por cuestiones ajenas a nuestra voluntad no se pudo pero si la celebraremos mañana.
Así que todas las chicas nos organizamos para unas adornar nuestra cruz haciendo rosas y pegándolas, otras se encargaran de la comida y otras de las bebidas, mientras que los chichos se encargan de tejer las palmas de buscar el cura y de la música.
