The Sweet Rewards of Our Farm: Fruits That Started During the Pandemic

A wonderful day to everyone!
The pandemic was one of the biggest challenges our family experienced. Like many others, we worried about the future, but instead of giving up, my husband decided to spend his time doing something productive. He started planting different kinds of fruit trees on our farm. At that time, we didn't know how long we would have to wait before seeing the results, but we believed that our hard work would eventually pay off.

Now, every time I walk around our farm, I can't help but smile because we are finally enjoying the fruits that he planted years ago. It feels so rewarding to harvest fresh fruits from our own trees, knowing that they came from patience, hard work, and hope. The seeds are from fruit we buy and we eat during the time.

One of my favorite trees is our citrus tree. It produces lots of sweet fruits, and I really enjoy eating them fresh. We even joke around whenever someone visits our farm. Have you also heard the belief that if a pregnant woman craves and get a fruit, it becomes sour? I don't know if it's true, but I hope no one gets a craving for our citrus so it stays sweet forever! Haha!

Another fruit that I love is the egg fruit, also called canistel or tisa. I know many people don't like this fruit because of its texture, but I actually enjoy it. Its yellow flesh like of a boiled egg yolk, which makes it unique. Aside from its interesting taste, it's also packed with vitamins, and antioxidants that are good for our health. The seed is from our new years 13kinds of fruits display during the season.
We also have a pomelo tree. This year, it only produced a few fruits, but that's just how nature works. Some years the harvest is small, while in other years the tree becomes so full of fruits that we can hardly believe our eyes. Farming has taught me to be patient because every tree has its own season.

Aside from those, we are also blessed to have many santol trees, mango trees, star apple trees, and jackfruit trees around our farm. Walking around and seeing all these fruit trees makes me appreciate God's blessings even more. It also reminds me that every tree we plant today can benefit our family for many years.

That's why I always encourage others to plant fruit trees if they have even a small space available. You may have to wait for a few years, but the reward is worth it. One day, your children, grandchildren, and even future generations will enjoy the fruits of your hard work. It's one of the best gifts we can leave for our family.
Looking at our farm today I realize that the pandemic was not only a season of hardship. For our family, it also became the beginning of something beautiful. The fruit trees that my husband planted during those uncertain days are now giving us food, happiness, and unforgettable memories especially for my daughter. She’s the one who excited always to harvest and eat fruit from our backyard.

Thank you! Yes, I didn't even realize how much our fruit trees had grown until they all started bearing fruits. I feel blessed to have a husband with a long-term mindset. He planted these trees years ago, and now our family is enjoying the harvest. 🌳
Farming during the pandemic wasn’t just about cultivating produce. It was about cultivating hope, patience, and a sense of continuity when the world felt uncertain. 🙏😇
