My Mother’s Anthurium Garden: She Started Planting Flowers So She Could Bring Fresh Blooms to Church Every Sunday

My mother has always loved flowering plants. Even when I was younger, I remember how she liked having flowers around our house. She would look for plants that could grow well in our place and slowly add them to our garden.

One of the plants that became special to her is the anthurium.

She discovered that anthurium is growing in our area. It grows well here, and it does not need too much care. Because of this, my mother started planting more of them. At first, she only wanted to grow flowers that she could bring to church every Sunday.

She did not want to keep buying flowers. She thought, if we can grow them ourselves, we can simply pick the beautiful flowers from our garden and bring them to church. That simple idea became the beginning of her love for anthuriums.

As time passed, her collection slowly became bigger.

For me, it is nice to see how these plants grow around our home. Some are still small, while others are already big and producing many flowers. Sometimes, I help my mother check the plants and look at which ones already have flowers ready to pick.

What I like most about anthurium is that it is not a very demanding plant. It can live even if we do not give it too much attention. Of course, it still needs proper care, water, and a good place to grow, but compared to some other flowering plants, I find it easier to maintain.

It is also a practical plant for us. When there are many flowers, my mother can use them for church, decorate our home, give some to family and friends, or sell some to people who like anthuriums.

I also learned from my mother that gardening does not always have to start with a big plan. Sometimes, it starts with one small plant and a simple reason.

For my mother, it started because she wanted to bring flowers to church every Sunday. For me, it became a beautiful reminder of how much she enjoys taking care of plants.

Whenever I see her anthurium garden blooming, I feel happy because it is something she started with love. The flowers may be simple, but behind every plant is her time, patience, and enjoyment.

This is my mother's little anthurium garden, and I am happy to see how her simple love for flowers continues to grow.
