Health Matters: Nourishing Our Children Today While Inspiring Parents to Prioritize Family’s Health Every Day

Hello everyone!
From Monday to Friday, we have a feeding program at our daycare. As a parent, I am happy to be part of it because I can personally see how the children enjoy their meals and how they are slowly growing healthier.

Being a parent is not easy. We have many things to do every day like cooking, cleaning, taking care of the children, and sometimes working too. Even when parents are tired or sometimes not feeling well, we still try our best to guide and accompany our children. That is just how parents are. We often put our children first and priority.

During our feeding program, I always remind myself how important healthy food is for children. They need enough food so they will not go hungry, but more importantly, they need nutritious food to support their growth. I feel happy whenever I see them eating and enjoying their meals.

Today, our Barangay Health Workers visited us at the daycare. They provided free blood pressure checks and helped monitor the children's weight and also the health of all parents and guardians. I appreciate this kind of service because checking our health should not be forgotten.
As I watched the children, I noticed that many of them have gained weight. For me, that is a little but meaningful progress. It shows that the feeding program is helping them. Seeing their improvement makes me happy because I know that our simple efforts can make a difference.
It also made me think about my own health.

I am a busy mother, and sometimes I get so focused on taking care of everyone that I forget to take care of myself. But going to the daycare to accompany my child has also become a little rest time for me. I get to sit down, watch the children, and take a break from cooking and cleaning unless I still have a schedule waiting for me at home!

Now that the weather is extremely hot in our area, taking care of our health is even more important. We need to drink more water, eat healthy food, get enough rest, and stay active. We can also take vitamins when needed and as advised by a health professional.
I am learning that being healthy does not always require big changes. Sometimes, it starts with simple habits every day.

As a mother, I want my children to grow healthy and strong, but I also need to remember that my health matters too.
Because when we take care of ourselves, we are also taking better care of the people we love.

Thank you for dropping by @lacosi!
I really like how you connected caring for the children with caring for yourself too. The feeding program and seeing the children gain weight must be so rewarding.
