Harvesting Durian and Dragon Fruit, Preparing Delicious Family Meals, and Making Homemade Fruit Ice Candy

Hello everyone! 😊
One of the happiest moments for me is going home to my parents farm during harvest season. As a farmer's daughter, nothing compares to seeing our trees full of fruits and our backyard filled with fresh food. Right now, it's durian season, and I can't explain how excited I am every time I visit my parents.

Honestly, when there are so many harvests, I don't even know what I should eat first! Aside from the abundant durian harvest of my parents, my brother also harvested plenty of dragon fruits. We also have vegetables from our farm, native chickens, and ducks raised by my parents. Everything is fresh, and almost every meal comes straight from our own farm.

That day, we decided to prepare food using only what we had at home. It felt so rewarding because everything on our table came from our own hard work. We grilled native chicken and duck, cooked chicken tinola and adobo, and of course, enjoyed lots of fresh durian and dragon fruit for dessert.

I was especially excited to grill the chicken and duck because ever since I was little, that has always been one of our favorite family meals. Growing up on the farm, I learned how to grill at a young age. So whenever I come home, I already know that I will be the one assigned to prepare the food. I always laugh because I really can't escape cooking whenever I'm around, but I honestly enjoy doing it because it's one way I can take care of my family.

Since we harvested so many durians, my parents told me to bring an entire crate to my in-laws. I joke them, Should I just sell these instead? We all laughed when my parents answered, "Money will eventually run out, but sharing your blessings will always come back to you."

Since we had opened more durians and harvested plenty of passion fruits than we could finish, I turned the extras into homemade ice candy.
That conversation reminded me of one of the greatest lessons my parents have taught us. They always tell me to love and respect my in-laws the same way I love my own parents and siblings. They have always shown kindness to both sides of the family because they believe blessings become even greater when they are shared. I admire that mindset, and I always follow their example.
After spending the day preparing food, my brothers gathered together at the farm. Of course, their bonding wouldn't be complete without sharing stories, laughing together, and enjoying a few drinks after a long day of work. I don't mind because I know how hardworking they are. Farming is never easy, and they deserve time to relax after all their efforts.

Seeing my parents abundant harvest fills my heart with gratitude. Every fruit on our table represents months of patience, hard work, and prayers. Moments like these remind me how blessed we are. It also inspires me to continue gardening and farming because I have seen how rewarding it is when harvest time finally comes.

I'm so grateful for every blessing especially for the abundant harvest and the things around us. Having plenty of food and we can eat what we want.
