From Planting to Waiting: Growing My Daughter's Favorite Strawberries πŸ“

Hello, my dear hivers! I hope you are all doing great. πŸ“

Today, I'm excited to share another simple but meaningful gardening story with my daughter.

Have you ever planted your favorite fruit? Well, that's exactly what we did!
Since my daughter loves strawberries, I thought, Why don't we try growing them in our own backyard? It may take months before we can harvest, but I know the experience itself is already worth it.

What made this even more special is that it brought back one of my happiest childhood memories.

I grew up in the province where wild strawberries grew naturally in the mountains and along the trails. Whenever we went to the farm, we would happily pick the tiny wild strawberries we found beside the roads and sometimes near in our house. Back then, we didn't have to plant them because they simply grew on their own. It felt like nature was giving us a sweet little surprise every time we visited the fields.

Now that I have my own family, things are different. Here in our place, strawberries don't grow naturally, so if we want to enjoy them, we have to plant and care for them ourselves. That's why I wanted my daughter to experience the same excitement I had as a child, even if it starts with just one small pot.

The first thing I did was prepare our planting materials. I mixed garden soil with rice hulls and dried banana leaves to make the soil healthy and rich in nutrients. After that, we filled our hanging black planting pot.

Then came my daughter's favorite part planting the strawberry seedling!
She carefully placed it in the pot while smiling from ear to ear. Seeing her little hands touching the soil made my heart so happy. She kept asking me, Mama, when will we have strawberries?

I smiled and told her, not yet, my dear morning. Plants need time to grow. Just like us, they also need love, care, water, sunlight, and most of all... patience.

She simply nodded and said, Okay, Mama. I'll wait.
That little conversation reminded me that gardening is one of the best classrooms for children. They don't just learn how to plant, they also learn how to become patient, responsible, and appreciative of nature.

Nowadays, many children spend most of their time using gadgets. There's nothing wrong with technology, but I also want my daughter to experience the simple joys of playing in the garden, touching the soil, watering plants, and watching something grow little by little.

Every morning, we happily check on our little strawberry plant. We celebrate every new leaf and imagine the day we'll finally harvest our first strawberries together.

Whether it bears fruit soon or not, we are already harvesting something much more valuable quality time, beautiful memories, patience, and a deeper love for nature.

I truly hope our strawberry plant will reward us with sweet fruits one day. Until then, we'll continue caring for it with excitement, hope, and lots of love.

Thank you so much for reading my little gardening story. May we continue planting not only fruits and vegetables but also happy memories with the people we love. This is my owned picture and edited in Canva.

Happy gardening and have a nice day!πŸ“
