A Fruit-Filled Mountain Visit: Ripe Bugnay, Homemade Pizza, Coffee, and Family Time at My Brother’s Farm

Hello everyone,

Whenever I visit my brother’s farm house in the mountain, I always find something that catches my attention. This time, it was not only the beautiful view but also the different fruits growing around their home.

My brother and his family have many fruit trees planted around the area. Some fruits have become so ordinary to them that they hardly notice them anymore. But for someone like me who loves fruits, especially anything with a sour taste, these trees are like little treasures waiting to be discovered.

One of the fruits that caught my attention was bugnay. There were many ripe ones hanging from the tree, and seeing them made me excited to taste them. I really enjoy fruits with that sweet-and-sour flavor, so I could not help but appreciate what was growing naturally around the house.

Aside from bugnay, my brother also has guyabano, atis, and other fruit trees. Looking around made me imagine how nice it would be to have a home surrounded by fruit trees and vegetables. Instead of having to look far for something to harvest, there would always be something growing nearby. This is something I amazed and wanted to have in my backyard.

During my visit, my sister-in-law was preparing spaghetti for the farm workers. Since I was there, I happily joined them for lunch or maybe I should say snack! She also prepared homemade pizza, and it was really delicious. Food always seems to taste better when shared with family, especially after spending time outdoors.

After eating, I enjoyed a cup of coffee while looking at the mountains. The green landscape, cool mountain air, and trees surrounding the house made the moment even more enjoyable.

This visit reminded me that the kind of farm I dream about does not have to be completed overnight. Planting can happen one tree at a time, one vegetable at a time, and one season at a time.

Someday, I hope to have more fruits and vegetables growing around our own home too. For now, I am happy to visit, observe, enjoy, and get inspiration from the farms around us.

Nakamis naman kumain nang bugnay.. matagal na rin highschool palng ako huling kain ko nyan..hahaha. masarap sa asin...at nakaka manha tuwing mamunga kasi napaka colorful tinangnang puno dahil sa subrang dami pag ito ay namunga..

Nakakamis din talaga ang bugnay lalo na sa highschool life yung time na sobrang takam pa sa maasim, now parang di na kaya ng ngipin ko friend hahaha! 😀

Thank you for sharing this wonderful farm visit. I enjoyed reading about the different fruit trees around your brother's house. I can relate to your excitement about seeing fruits growing nearby because I also love fresh fruits. In my case, when I was in my hometown, I tried growing water spinach in pots, and it made me happy whenever I see them growing well. I don't have fruit trees here in my current location, but I dream of having a backyard with fruits and vegetables someday. It would be nice to harvest food without having to buy everything from the market. I also understand what you mean about taking things one step at a time. Sometimes we want our dream garden to happen immediately, but good things take time. Your story reminded me to be patient and enjoy the process. The bugnay looked very interesting, especially because I also enjoy sweet and sour flavors. Spending time outdoors surrounded by trees and mountains sounds very relaxing. I think the homemade pizza and spaghetti made the visit even more special. Kakatakam! Hahaha! Food always tastes better when shared with family and friends. Thank you so much sis @leighdalisay for your appreciative comment! I’m happy that you enjoyed my farm visit story. I feel lucky whenever I visit my brother’s home because there are so many fruits and plants around, and simple things like picking fresh fruits make me happy.

I hope someday you can have your own backyard garden too. Even growing vegetables in pots is already a good start. I also believe that we don't need to rush little by little, we can build the garden and farm that we dream of.

And yes, the homemade pizza, spag, and coffee made our visit even more moment na gandang balik balikan parang instagrammable! Nothing beats eating good food while surrounded by family, trees, and mountains. Hopefully, we can both enjoy our dream gardens someday. Thank you again, sis.😇
