Estoy feliz de unirme por primera vez a este maravilloso concurso semanal que resalta la esencia de la mujer y que mejor forma de hacerlo que hablarles del maravilloso lugar donde nací, crecí y aún sigo aquí y la verdad no creo que me vaya,a menos que sea de vacaciones.
Soy de Mérida, Venezuela, un Estado Andino, turistico, conocido por su característico clima , su belleza natural y el imponente Pico Bolívar, pero también por su gente amable, solidaria y trabajadora.
Transcurrí mi infancia en un pueblito llamado; EL HATO, una zona rural,de producción agrícola, en esa plaza que les muestro en la imagen anterior, pase momentos increíbles durante mi infancia, al salir al recreo de la escuela, o disfrutando en las tardes con mis hermanos y primos, lo mejor de este lugar es la tranquilidad, la seguridad y la paz que se siente al caminar por sus calles y caminos de tierra, respirar aire puro, sentirse libre.
Me encanta el Hato, es mi lugar favorito en el mundo y como no serlo, si ahí aun viven mis padres, cada vez que tengo la oportunidad de visitarlos, me reencuentro en cierta forma, además que allá puedo sentir uno de mis olores favoritos, el olor a café, cosechado, tostado y preparado por mi familia, el olor a lluvia, a tierra mojada y el olor a comida casera con hierbas aromáticas criollas, orgánicas que hace que nos de hambre de inmediato.
¿Pero que es lo mejor de mi Estado Mérida?
Sin lugar a duda, lo mejor es su gente, gente amable, educada, Mérida es conocida como la ciudad de los caballeros, por la amabilidad, la cortesía y el respeto que tenían los hombres, hacia las mujeres y hacia todos en general. Estamos consientes que como pasa en todas partes del mundo, mucho de esos valores se han perdido, pero aún se conservan de forma general , con algunas excepciones claro esta.
La gente de mi tierra es optimista, luchadora, no se detiene, es trabajadora, es icono en la producción agrícola, en las distintas localidades, se producen diversos rubros agrícolas, que son distribuidos a nivel nacional.
El trabajo en el campo, no es fácil e incluso muchas veces discriminado, es estar bajo el sol o incluso la lluvia, día tras día, dando lo mejor de si para alimentar a la población y en los pueblos merideños, es común también ver a las mujeres, trabajando la tierra, lastima no tengo alguna fotografía en este momento.
Mérida es un lugar lleno de tradiciones, pero la que mas se destaca es las paraduras del niño que se realizan desde el 26 de diciembre y todo el mes de enero, en cada casa, institución o plaza publica, se construye un pesebre, no hay limites para la creatividad y el amor que pone su gente en su construcción, y después del día de navidad y hasta el 02 de febrero, cada familia organiza su paradura, donde le cantan y rinden homenaje al nacimiento, es una gran celebración entre familiares y amigos, donde se disfruta del famoso biscochuelo, vino y postres tradicionales .
Después en el mes de febrero se celebran las tradicionales ferias del sol, por supuesto la situación del país y la pandemia, no ha permitido que esta se realice en los últimos dos años, pero es hermoso recordar el ambiente festivo y el hermoso desfile de carnaval. Que hacia de Mérida el lugar predilecto para disfrutar de la temporada de carnaval
Otro de los emblemas de mi tierra es : Mérida una Universidad con una ciudad por dentro. Y es que una de las mejores cosas que posee es La Universidad de los Andes, la cual consta de varias facultades de edificios hermosos, distribuidos por toda la ciudad, la ULA es el alma mater de miles de estudiantes del todo el país, quienes se mudan al Estado Mérida, para formarse profesionalmente, por eso la ciudad de Mérida, es una ciudad universitaria y eso hace que el centro de la ciudad este lleno de jovialidad y una mezcla cultural increíble. Las imágenes de las fotografías son de mi amada Facultad de Ingeniería, lugar donde estudio.
Por último y sin lugar a duda, lo mejor del lugar que crecí es su belleza natural, sus hermosos paisajes, sus imponentes montañas y su clima tan agradable. Hay muchos sitios hermosos en mi tierra que aún ni siquiera conozco, pero seria hermoso recorrer cada rincón de mi Estado Mérida.
Estoy agradecida por el lugar donde crecí y por mi familia merideña,he tratado de tomar lo mejor de mi gentilicio, de mi tierra, y eso forma parte de mi esencia como Mujer.

I love the Hato, it is my favorite place in the world and how not to be, if my parents still live there, every time I have the opportunity to visit them, I find myself in some way, plus there I can feel one of my favorite smells, the smell of coffee, harvested, roasted and prepared by my family, the smell of rain, wet earth and the smell of homemade food with aromatic herbs Creole, organic that makes us hungry immediately.
But what is the best thing about my state of Merida?
Without a doubt, the best thing is its people, kind, educated people, Merida is known as the city of gentlemen, because of the kindness, courtesy and respect that men had towards women and towards everyone in general. We are aware that as it happens everywhere in the world, many of these values have been lost, but they are still preserved in general, with some exceptions of course.
The people of my land are optimistic, fighter, they do not stop, they are hard-working, they are icons in agricultural production, in the various localities, they produce various agricultural products, which are distributed nationwide.
The work in the field, is not easy and even many times discriminated, is to be under the sun or even the rain, day after day, giving the best of themselves to feed the population and in the towns of Merida, it is also common to see women, working the land, too bad I do not have a photograph at this time.

Another emblem of my land is: Mérida, a University with a city inside.
