Aprendiendo a Mejorar la Calidad de las Fotos Tomadas con el Teléfono. (ESP-ENG)
Hola Querida Comunidad. Espero que tengan una excelente y productiva semana. Desde hace algunos días me he dado a la tarea de aprender a usar de forma adecuada la cámara de mi teléfono, ya que por ahora es la única herramienta fotográfica con la que cuento, aunque también tengo una cámara digital de esas antiguas pero está sin batería y no he encontrado pilas que sean de calidad, solo de esas que con pocas tomas se descargan, convirtiéndose entonces en un gasto que no puedo darme el lujo de hacer.

Since a few days ago I have been learning how to use my phone's camera properly, since for now it is the only photographic tool I have, although I also have one of those old digital cameras but it is out of battery and I have not found quality batteries, only those that with a few shots are discharged, becoming then an expense that I can not afford to do.
Siempre he pensado, que podemos mejorar cada cosa que hagamos en nuestra vida diaria, con un poco de esfuerzo e iniciativa, optimizando y sacando el máximo provecho a los recursos que tengamos a mano y aquí he encontrado publicaciones valiosas que me han ayudado bastante, además hace poco me inscribí en un curso de fotografía básico con el celular, promovido por la facultad de medios audiovisuales de mi universidad, el cual a pesar de ser completamente vía online fue una experiencia muy enriquecedora que me da una idea más clara de cómo potenciar mis fotografías y en qué áreas debo enfocarme en aprender, practicar y mejorar. Acá les compartiré algunas de las cosas que aprendí durante el curso:
I have always thought that we can improve everything we do in our daily lives, with a little effort and initiative, optimizing and making the most of the resources we have at hand and here I have found valuable publications that have helped me a lot, also recently I enrolled in a basic photography course with the cell phone, promoted by the faculty of audiovisual media at my university, which despite being completely online was a very enriching experience that gives me a clearer idea of how to enhance my photographs and in what areas I should focus on learning, practicing and improving. Here I will share with you some of the things I learned during the course:
Una de las ventajas de la cámara del teléfono, es que es una herramienta más práctica, cómoda y discreta que generalmente la tenemos a mano para captar nuestros momentos, además podemos descargar ciertas aplicaciones que nos pueden ayudar a mejorar la calidad de la foto. Aunque existen teléfonos con mejor calidad que otros podemos realizar una buena toma si nos tomamos el tiempo de conocer nuestra cámara.
One of the advantages of the phone camera is that it is a more practical, comfortable and discreet tool that we usually have at hand to capture our moments, we can also download certain applications that can help us to improve the quality of the photo. Although there are phones with better quality than others we can take a good shot if we take the time to know our camera.
Tips para mejorar la calidad de nuestras fotos tomadas con el teléfono // Tips to improve the quality of our photos taken with the phone
1.- Pensar en la fotografía // Thinking about photography.
Muchas veces he incurrido en este error, tomo la foto sin pensarla, solo disparo el lente y ya. Cual ha sido mi resultado? Un montón de fotografías pésimas, borrosas, sin vida que saturan la memoria del celular. Aquí es donde la calidad prevalece a la cantidad. Debemos tomar la fotografía con calma, disfrutando el momento, pensar que es lo que realmente deseamos capturar, pensar en el encuadre, en los colores y sobretodo en la luz, aún más si son teléfonos con cámaras de mala o mediana calidad como el mío.
Many times I have made this mistake, I take the picture without thinking about it, I just shoot the lens and that's it. What has been the result? A bunch of lousy, blurry, lifeless pictures that saturate the cell phone memory. This is where quality prevails over quantity. We must take the picture calmly, enjoying the moment, think about what we really want to capture, think about the framing, the colors and above all the light, even more if they are phones with poor or medium quality cameras like mine.
2.- Aprovechar la luz natural // Take advantage of natural light
La luz es algo fundamental en el mundo de la fotografía, la luz puede dañar o mejorar nuestra captura, el truco está en saber aprovecharla, hacer que la luz este siempre a nuestro favor y no existe nada mejor que la luz natural, podemos aprovechar esa luz que se filtra a través de las ventanas si estamos en el interior o la luz filtrada bajo un árbol para conseguir acabado mas naturales. Pero la luz natural varía a lo largo del día, no es igual tomar una fotografía a las 9 am que a las 12 del mediodía, en este curso nos recomendaron tomar las imágenes antes de las 10 am y después de las 4 pm. Aunque el sol del mediodía es ideal para capturar las sombras bien marcadas, y esta iluminación intensa del mediodía se usa mucho también para lograr fotos blanco y negro. En algunos casos apoyarnos con una lámpara también es útil.
Light is something fundamental in the world of photography, light can damage or improve our capture, the trick is to know how to take advantage of it, make the light always in our favor and there is nothing better than natural light, we can take advantage of the light that filters through the windows if we are indoors or the filtered light under a tree to get a more natural finish. But natural light varies throughout the day, it is not the same to take a picture at 9 am than at 12 noon, in this course we were recommended to take the images before 10 am and after 4 pm. Although the midday sun is ideal to capture the shadows well marked, and this intense midday lighting is also widely used to achieve black and white photos. In some cases a lamp is also useful.
3.- Pensar en la composición // Thinking about composition
Para lograr una buena composición de debe buscar el mejor ángulo posible, para esto debemos movernos, buscar inspiración, acercarnos, alejarnos, ponernos en cuclillas, desde arriba, en fin jugar un poco. Una teoría muy conocida y que he visto que ha sido muchas veces desarrollada aquí, es la ley de tercios que consiste en dividir la fotografía en 9 cuadros donde lo que queremos destacar en nuestra foto, se encuentre en una de las intersecciones, ya que centrar el elemento a veces no es la mejor opción.
To achieve a good composition we must look for the best possible angle, for this we must move, look for inspiration, move closer, move away, squat, from above, in short play a little. A well known theory that I have seen developed many times here, is the law of thirds that consists of dividing the photograph into 9 squares where what we want to highlight in our photo, is in one of the intersections, since centering the element sometimes is not the best option.
Cuando estamos fotografiando paisajes por ejemplo, ubicar el horizonte puede hacer una gran diferencia, si queremos resaltar el cielo o el paisaje por ejemplo.
When we are shooting landscapes for example, positioning the horizon can make a big difference, whether we want to highlight the sky or the landscape for example.

Ubicar un punto de fuga, es determinar si las líneas se unen en algún punto, algo que pasa mucho en las carreteras, esto genera armonía visual.

4.- Cuida la estabilidad // Care for stability
Generalmente tomamos las imágenes con el teléfono en la mano, debemos evitar moverla mientras se toma la fotografía o usar algún accesorio como trípodes.
Generally we take the images with the phone in our hand, we should avoid moving it while taking the picture or using any accessory such as tripods.
5.- Usar el modo manual de la cámara // Using the camera's manual mode
Siempre tomaba las fotografías en modo automático, algo que no es bueno, es mejor usar el modo manual de la cámara y realizar nuestros propios ajustes de acuerdo a lo que necesitamos en el momento. Aquí podemos seleccionar por ejemplo la sensibilidad del sensor ISO que indica lo sensible que es para captar la luz. El ISO base es entre 100 y 200 y cuando haya más requerimiento de iluminación el ISO se va subiendo.
I always took pictures in automatic mode, something that is not good, it is better to use the manual mode of the camera and make our own adjustments according to what we need at the moment. Here we can select for example the sensitivity of the ISO sensor which indicates how sensitive it is to capture light. The base ISO is between 100 and 200 and when there are more lighting requirements the ISO is raised.
Otra cosa que podemos configurar es la apertura del diafragma, bueno en mi teléfono no encontré esta opción pero la apertura de diafragma controla la cantidad de luz que entra, funciona como la retina. Se reconoce con la letra f, cuando el diafragma es más abierto el numero es más pequeño y viceversa cuando esta mas abierto hay menos profundidad y viceversa.
Another thing we can configure is the diaphragm aperture, well in my phone I did not find this option but the diaphragm aperture controls the amount of light that enters, it works like the retina. It is recognized with the letter f, when the diaphragm is more open the number is smaller and vice versa when it is more open there is less depth and vice versa.
También podemos configurar la velocidad de obturación. En mi teléfono solo dice “toma rápida” supongo que es eso, pero una velocidad alta se utiliza para fotografías de deportes por ejemplo pero debe haber mucha luz. Estos tres elementos, ISO, diafragma y velocidad juegan un papel importante en la exposición, que es la cantidad de luz aprovechada, es bueno evitar que la imagen sea sobreexpuesta, es decir muy iluminada y saturada o subexpuesta que es el caso contrario muy oscura.
We can also set the shutter speed. On my phone it just says "fast shutter" I guess that's it, but a high speed is used for sports photography for example but there must be a lot of light. These three elements, ISO, aperture and speed play an important role in the exposure, which is the amount of light used, it is good to avoid that the image is overexposed, i.e. very bright and saturated or underexposed which is the opposite case very dark.
6.-Evitar el uso de flash // Avoid using flash
Si no es un flash de calidad, hará que las fotos queden con ojos rojos, la imagen se vea plana, defectos se apreciaran mas, en general no conviene.
If it is not a quality flash, it will make the pictures red-eye, the image will look flat, defects will be more noticeable, in general it is not convenient.
7.- No usar el zoom // Do not use zoom
Ya que es como tomar una foto y recortarla, el zoom digital toma la misma foto y la amplia, perdiendo la calidad, queda con ruidos y pixelada, es mejor tomar la foto en general, escoger la parte que necesitamos y recortarla en edición.
Since it is like taking a photo and cropping it, the digital zoom takes the same photo and enlarges it, losing the quality, leaving it with noise and pixelated, it is better to take the photo in general, choose the part we need and crop it in editing.
8.-Limpiar la óptica // Cleaning the optics
Muchas veces el lente de la cámara puede estar sucio y rayado, esto puede llegar a hacer una gran diferencia en la calidad de las fotos.
Many times the camera lens can be dirty and scratched, this can make a big difference in the quality of the photos.
8. Utiliza apps para tomar y editar tus fotos // Use apps to take and edit your photos
En este caso nos recomendaron Lightroom, ProCAM X, Lightroom y PicsArt hasta ahora he probado Lightroom y picsArt ambos me gustan muchos

La casa de la primera foto, es la casa de mis padres queda en un pueblito de Mérida llamado el Hato, todas las fotos fueron tomadas allá. A excepción de la última foto, esos niños traviesos son mi sobrino y mi hijo, Amen por tus buenos deseos hacia ellos. Si espero mejorar mis fotos de comida y en general, estoy en eso aprendiendo.
