The lady, the hydrangea, and the Borzoi. A new piece and back after a long break

The wind caught the ribbon that tied them together: The Lady with the Hydrangea and the Borzoi.

I created this piece from a sketch scanned then played with digitally. And it was made over a month ago before I became a bit ill. Then my own illness (just a triffling cold but it knocked me for six for a few days) was followed by my Mother in Laws own serious illness putting her back in hospital.

It has been a long few months of her close to death in hospital, then sent to nursing homes in hopes of recovery to hospital again. We are finally at a stage that she can sit up in a wheel chair so life, tho hardly getting back to normal, has more hope in it.

Summer has begun but I the year seems surreal with all of it.

Today, for the first time, I felt I could open the computer and peek my head into HIVE and see how all are.

I wanted to share this piece I'd made so here we are:

It started with the peevish stair of a Borzoi I sketched

Then the lady came

It seems all a dream now, long ago, when I was sketching daily and in my studio.

She came to Life with a flower in her hair.

14mayHive4.jpg

Watercolor in bits and bobs breathed more color in her cheeks

14mayHive6.jpg
A pink moon rose on the pair in a breeze filled evening.

When I was creating this I was thinking of it for an #NFT and it seems there might be a few new places around for that, having quickly looked at some of my favs on here and where they are posting, so I'll have to look into that.

I'm happy to peek back into Hive and I hope I can start to return to more regular postings and visiting all my favorite Hivers for comments and discovering who new has joined us of late.

Here's to a hopeful Summer and I hope my Mother in law can now enjoy it. She was able to sit outside yesterday in a wheelchair in the garden at the nursing home for the first time in 2 months. She slipped her shoes off and let her feet touch the grass for the first time. Sometimes I wonder at how we "heal" people...the sterile world of hospital and clinics when all we want to do is hear the birdsong and let our touch touch the cool June grass.

I hope all of you find a moment to enjoy the day and indulge in your passions.

Yes , thank you @ryivhnn my trifling cold was just a cog in an already gummed um machine of this year haha. My poor MIL has really had a time of it. There have been two times we thought we were saying our good byes ,but she's tough stuff and pulled through. These past few years have been a challenge for us all, eh? I hope you are well.

Yay you are back @donnadavisart 😁 I missed your beautiful drawings and stories.
Yes, sometimes life happens. And it can be all overwhelming. Good to hear she is in a nursing home now.
And you found time for you.
Stunning artwork 😁👋🏻 Have a wonderful day and start of this new week 💃🏻☀️
