Another walking vlog on our seashore and today's #inktober

Today's inktober has more Victoriana and of course a bit of magic.

But, let's start with our walk today. I wanted to take you on another bit of my morning rambles, down the mown field to the small salt inlets and harbour.

The sea was so calm it was like glass and the reflections of the few clouds dappled in the blue sky were dreamy. The white sands of the embankments were out as the tide was quite low.

I start my walks quite early and by this time the Sun had hit that point in it's rise where it becomes an orb of light piercing the blue sky. The ochres and umbers of the sea grasses and shore line were lit with dew. It always has the feel of a place fairies might dwell.

The sandy embankments at low tide always offer up a chance to see what creatures were there before me. Today I saw racoon tracks and various deer tracks. Usually coyote and fox leave their mark as well and of course all the little rolled balls of sands made by the fiddler crabs.

I've been watching a solitary blue heron this past month who has been flocking with the last of the snowy egrets. The herons always head south first and most were gone by mid Sept. The Snowy egrets do stay a bit later, but I was happy to see today, as I crept upon what I thought was our solitary blue heron to see he did have a chum. I have no idea why this pair has remained behind since all there brethren left for warmer climbs weeks earlier. I shall keep an eye on them; I wonder shall I have to knit wooly jumpers for them if they stick around?

And finally we arrive at day 12 #inktober "tea on the go" our lovely lady is allowing her seagull footman to carry the load for her seaside tea today. That includes her particular friend, the boxer, who does not like sand in his toes, so the footman must oblige. He is trying his best to keep his tea in his cup.

I'm still loving my self imposed sea and tea prompt for #inktober2021 and hoping to stick with it until 31 October.

If you'd like to see them all together check out my instagram: https://www.instagram.com/donnadavisart/

This is absolutely lovely, starting out with inktober and Tea on the go! I love it, I do.

There is nothing as quieting to the soul as the salt and the sea. It has always been that way and it is even free. Your words are free-flowing and the whimsy is barely hidden. It is such a wonderful write, it is fabulously delicious.

Thank you.

Do it again!
